At least 20 GOP Electoral College voters are considering voting against President-elect Donald Trump next week, according to a Harvard constitutional law professor whos offering legal aid to faithless electors who betray their party.
Harvard University Professor of Law and Leadership Larry Lessig did not offer evidence to support his claim. But, if true, the figure would put the anti-Trump movements goal of scuttling his election win much closer to becoming reality when 538 members of the Electoral College vote in their state capitals on Monday.

Obliged...Kyle Cheney is also the Politico reporter who filed the original story from Lessig about the potential 20 GOP faithless electors
Nothing remotely like this has ever happened before.
I understand the danger of writing that. Sure, we have to consider the possibility. But not in a serious way.
The alternative solution would be the cause of riots. But people who don’t usually riot. And that would scare the bejeezus out of the folks with the power.
“However, the electors from states that voted for Trump and do not vote for Trump will not be committing sedition.”
But they will be committing stupidity and would likely be the shot (vote) heard around the world, in that, the start of the revolution if they were successful in denying Trump the election.
19 of which are already democrats committed to Hillary in the first place.
They want to set precedence for electors to be able to legally vote for the candidate they choose, not the one they are bound to (even Hillary) without consequences. The thinking is for Trump electors to do the same. Yes they are mentally ill, but they are trying to shred the Constitution and destroy our election process with this temper tantrum.
Larry (post 26) reminds me of Wally Cox (Mr. Peepers). What a nerd stereotype.
This is wishful thinking. He wants this to happen.
I am getting really tired of:

19 Democrat electors refuse to vote for DJT ... This is news?
I can believe there are electors publicly stating they may go Democrat in the face of threats of violence that local, state and national level Democrat law enforcement are ignoring.

That is all they have. They got their azzes kicked pretty much across the board so they are left with “what if’s.”
Consider this - there were several states that were pretty close and it is not out of the realm of reason to believe they too could flip to the GOP if Trump is successful.
Before you do, consider the large and small consequences. The consequences are larger than Trump, larger than mere politics.
Even if 20 Republicans Electors refuse to vote for Trump, he would still win. Perhaps we need a Constitutional amendment to abolish the Electors while keeping the electoral votes.
Since when does voting your conscience mean going back on your word? Notice the implication: if someone votes for Trump he is not voting his conscience.
In the case of Wally Cox, it was in fact a stereotype. He was actually an athletic guy who was usually typecast as the nerd, unfortunately for his career. While he played pencil-necked geeks on TV, he wasn’t one in real life.
Hope those electors have a safe space...Far, Far out in the woods.
These faithless electors are from states won by Hillary, anyway!
Totally fake news. there’s only ONE faithless GOP Elector: that traitorous scumbag Chris Suprun from Texas.
And Suprun IS a scumbag:
>>...the electors from states that voted for Trump and do not vote for Trump will not be committing sedition.<<
Maybe not, but they might be committing something else.
