My guess is that Trump said keep what you stole so when an opportunity comes up to nab something belonging to the ChiComs that he can say something along the lines of, “Hey this stealing stuff is great, you got our drone we got your military satellite. Give us a couple of weeks and we’ll send the empty shell back to you via FedEx. That is if you give us our underwater drone back.”

He completely goes around the media. Haven't they tried to damage him enough during the campaign? Every single thing he says they try to take out of context. Look at what he said about his supporters - calling them violent and other sorts of things. The media took that at face value; everybody else knows he was trolling the media.

He probably has someone helping him with it, but he's a master at avoiding the media and taking his message directly to the people.

THEN have Some “crewmen”/”experts” “examine” it “”closely””

AND turn around and reject it saying its not the one they stole, tell them to take back, and

if they don’t just throw it overboard, and, casually, blow it up ourselves.

These people don’t realize who they’re dealing with. Does anyone believe that the drone the Chinese have is NOT going to be tampered with? What are we going to do with it?
