Brussel sprouts?
I think I just threw up a little in my mouth (mom being a mom, had that mom sixth sense and planned dinner accordingly whenever I was about to get into trouble. You guessed it; Brussel sprouts or liver).
I’ll stick with the cabbage.
I have avoided brussel sprouts for all my life, close to 80 years.
One of our younger relatives was a chef for years, and he couldn’t get me to eat them.
My wife could have been a chef. She does amazing fix from scratch or combining whatever in the fridge to make great meals. I refused to eat them if she made them for others.
One of the few things I agreed with Bushco I.
Recently on my birthday, my wife took me to dinner to one of the best restaurants in town. It specializes making incredible pizza specials and great sides.
Our younger relative couldn’t make the dinner, and he asked the owner to comp an order of Brussel sprouts sauteed in bacon with onions/mushrooms and finished in a 350 degree oven.
The owner brought out the sizzling brussel sprouts with our salad and said that he was comping the brussel sprouts. If I didn’t like them, the dinner was on him.
I tried them and loved them. We/basically I ate the entire big side order served on a sizzling serving dish.
My wife has made them a couple of times at home. She also gets them ready to be finished on our charcoal grill in a stir fry grill pan for about 10 minutes.
There are never any left overs of the Brussel Sprouts from her oven or my charcoal grill.
