If you don't have an Ivy league degree, you can't get to any high position in the CIA, NSA, or the State Department. Where are the "Ivy League" Universities? The very North Eastern corner of the United States.
As someone pointed out, the US is ruled by five Cities. Boston, New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles and Chicago. "The rest of us just pay taxes. The heart of the beast is New York, the Ivies being its nursery and Washington its storefront."
The reason this last election was so big is because it actual thwarted the will of those five cities, which went overwhelmingly for Nazi/Socialist Psychotic hate witch Hillary.
What I have come to realize is this nation is pretty much focused on New York and New England, and the rest of us are just "flyover country."
