A Riverside man accused of slitting the throat of a pit bull that attacked his poodle has been arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty. Both animals died.

In all seriousness, the thought of a dog attack was at the forefront of my gun-carry exercise.
This is why I decided to carry large, and carry a lot. You see, dog’s don’t understand “being shot”. A dog is also full of muscles dedicated to the forward motion. You see, shooting a dog doesn’t have anywhere near the affect as shooting a human.
Humans hear the bang, and know they’ve been shot. Dogs don’t comprehend. And most of what stops a charging perpetrator is the knowledge of being shot.
So with a dog, one must shoot the muscle tissue and literally destroy the body’s ability to move it’s limbs. It’s a horrible, horrible discussion - but it’s important.
Bird shot doesn’t defend from anything but attacking birds. I’m sorry, very very sorry to say - with my reverence of life in all forms - that shooting a dog is a practice of biology and physiology.
And just the thought of it makes me cringe. When carrying a gun in public you are far more likely to be attacked by a dog, or a pack of dogs. And dogs are relentless and cunning - they surround you. They are quiet. And they work as a team within hours of packing. I carry .357, 180g SemiJHP. And I don’t carry it for people. I carry it for animals. It saddens me, but there it is.
I have no pets (I’m a believer that the right pet finds you) but I do have a daughter and I live in the middle of thousands of acres of gamelands. I have a coyote problem. And I -can- have a bear problem too. Those Coyotes are fast, quiet, and when is in front of you, the rest are behind you. And they don’t understand what a gun is, or the bang that it makes.
Pit bulls should be shot in their owners imprisoned

I once worked as a contractor. We were doIng a job in a ghetto house with 3 generations of welfare rats. Their drug dealer son had a pit bull. The son was off dealing drugs and the dog went into the backyard and killed a stray dog. The queen of the family got all freaked out and asked us to kill the pit bull. The drug dealer had a rifle in his room so we dispatched the pit bull and threw it in a dumpster.
Shoot, shovel and shut the hell up.

No matter how much you train your dog there will always be conditions you can’t control. If you believe training can overcome instinct you will find conditions you could never anticipate.
Because only a highly paid government employee can take care of things like that. Plus all the needed paperwork, etc. That needs to occur.
Apparently he was arrested because he didn’t kill the pit on the spot, he allegedly drug the pit away, and then killed the pit.
My daughter lives in L.A. unfortunately. About 3 years ago she was walking her leashed toy Pomeranian (about 5 lbs.) to her apartment building entrance when the dipshiites who lived on the ground floor opened their front door and their 100 lb husky came charging out and attacked little Sushi. My daughter jumped on top of that mutt and pried its jaws open releasing her dog and was bit several times in the process. Little Sushi died later than evening from internal bleeding. We were all shocked by this. My daughter called the LAPD and Animal Control. The outcome was that animal control scolded her for having a small dog on a leash and posted a stern letter on the door of the dipshiites (whose dog had been in trouble before this for attacking PEOPLE). Too bad I don’t live closer or that husky would be taking a dirt nap right now. More proof that there is no situation that cannot be made worse by involving law enforcement in a coastal libtard city.

His dog is ten years old and never had an issue. He’s lived with two other dogs and four generations of humans.
Killing weaponized animals not under control by the registered owner helps to curb attacks on small children, and other potential & helpless victims.
I agree. It seems that “law enforcement” in L.A. is not interested in performing the jobs they were hired to do by protecting the public.
