Melania Trump Rocked a Black Dolce Gabbana MiniDress for New Years Eve

The future First Lady of the United States set the tone for a fashion-forward 2017 when she stepped out on New Year’s Eve in a seriously chic Dolce & Gabbana dress. Melania Trump wore the bow-front scoop-neck cocktail dress in one of her favorite colors — trusty black.

... It has bows on each strap, which are embellished with jewels and a fitted silhouette that hits a few inches below the knee.... Trump — accompanied by president-elect Donald Trump — donned the dress to a party at Mar-a-Lago, a Palm Beach... She accessorized simply with a sparkly cuff bracelet and her hair flowing, unadorned..-snip-

... Stafano Gabbana proudly posted an image of the Melania in her NYE dress with the caption “Melania Trump #DGwoman thank you #madeinitaly.” The post garnered more than 12,000 likes and congratulatory comments including “Congratulations , Stefano! You do wonderful clothes that we are proud to buy and put on!!!! No matter the religion, politic opinion or color of the skin. We love you,” and “Wonderful dress on a wonderful lady… grande Stefano!,” ...

... there are designers apart from Dolce & Gabbana who are game to dress Trump. “Of course I would,” was Calvin Klein’s response when asked if he’d consider designing for the future First Lady, according to Time.

“Donald Trump was elected and he will be our president. Melania deserves the respect of any first lady before her. Our role as part of the fashion industry is to promote beauty, inclusiveness, diversity. We should each be the best we can be and influence by our example,” Diane von Furstenberg declared. And Tommy Hilfiger chimed in, “I think Melania is a very beautiful woman and I think any designer should be proud to dress her.”...

No, I would say it is not.

It hits her right above her knees. Mini dress should hit at least mid thigh.

Seriously? I don’t remember that. I’ll have to look back at some pictures.

Can’t believe we elected this guy twice.

I don’t know if I like those shoulder bows... Kinda’ tacky.

I rather like them. If she had added a 'too much' necklace and other jewels it would be over the top. She kept it simple and I like that very much.

As Coco Chanel said, accessorize as you like, then take one thing away when you are done. Simple is better. Keeps it classic.

Worthless without pictures.

Agreed. However, pic is by Getty.

Yep.... Taking care of business....

They have a lovely woman in front of them. But they’re not looking at her, they are taking care of her.

Does anyone disagree? The coordination of Black X -Mooch dress and funereal clothing was an intentional signal to the family and legacy of Malcolm X. The worst of it all was to dress the little daughter in solid black.

There’s no better explanation...

My goodness. The transformation from the pic on the left to the one on the right. What a gorgeous persona. Shame one’s actions resemble the former. And the latter is undoubtedly another lie for the gullible ignorant.

Tacky? She has bows with red, white and blue plus one understated bracelet. Not at all tacky.

Check out Mooshelle’s outfits. That’s the gold standard of tacky.

“Throw that dress on Mooch and it would be a shame!”

No, it would be a CRIME!.

I like them on the dress. But they look more like Christmas wreaths with a spot of green in the middle, with a crystal dangling, in my opinion.

It’s guaranteed that we will never have to worry about Melania wearing anything but elegant classic clothing. It would be impossible to see her otherwise.

Even if you gave her a Mooche outfit with nothing else to wear, she would turn it inside-out or cut it in-half to make it look presentable. She has impeccable taste.

Gotta get used to a new first lady without the genormous derriere.

Not to mention, knowing you are really seeing a dude every time you accidentally see the Wookie.

OMG!
This was a nefarious plan dreamed up by Yahoo. Plan= entice millions to feast their eyes on Ms. Trump and by design, project a very large photo of MO and BO on the dance floor. The ‘she’ in the photo wearing a very bowed, white dress which women of her age usually have more intelligence to wear in a planned photo shoot. The caption with the photo....
(please, try to avoid breaking out in fits of laughter)...
“Michelle Obama’s Fashion Influence Rivaled that of Jackie Kennedy’s” The photo courtesy of AP, top prop site for all things Obama.
Agreed...a reprieve from the ‘elegance’ of the couple would be more than gratifying. In polite terms, “her fashion sense will be remembered years after their departure from center stage.”

Must have meant a mini dress from 1865 when dresses covered the ankles! Her dress appears to cover her knees.
