-10F? That is a relatively tame figure. I know plenty of people who have skied in similar temperatures. Consenting adults and all that.
Memo for media hand-wringers: If you’re skiing, there’s plenty of wind anyway so quoting wind chill figures is nonsensical at best.
I was up in Vermont last year and the temp was sub zero. One run down and I had to go into the ski shop for a balaclava face covering and googles. Otherwise it was too painful ;-)

It was otherwise, a beautiful, sunny day with about a foot of fresh powder. It was so cold that the snow "squeaked" underfoot. If you were dressed for it, it was almost enjoyable.
Pesky anthropogenic global chilling.
I was up early bringing a friend to the Bozeman International this morning before 4:00 AM...It was -12.
Likely colder at the top of the Bridgers or Lone Peak.
I was colder in early December but the ski slopes were not open yet.
Lot’s of fun!
Global warming. OR Putin hacked our weather system.
Call Algore!
Send in his warming jets and hot air!!!
Send in Leonardo!! Hot air a plenty!
Skiers can stay warm by being aggressive on the slopes; the problems are with lift operators, and attendants, in those deep cold temps. They’re not moving as much.
Also, the machinery gets a bit cranky as well.
- 4 now in my neck of the Montana woods. - 20 on the way.
Snowflakes!
What!? Skiing or the lack thereof for cupcakes now, I guess.
Wind is the reason.
