It will consolidate first in Poland, then fan out across seven countries from Estonia to Bulgaria, where there has been unease about increased Russian military operations in the region. A headquarters unit will be stationed in Germany.

I’m sure Putin is just trembling over facing 3,500 additional troops. Not that I want to put more US/NATO into Eastern Europe, but what exactly does this really accomplish?

WHAT Russian aggression?!?
Barack is seeing invasion forces that aren't there, much like Hitler trying to command nonexistent divisions.

Maybe he will send them over the border into Russia or Kaliningrad for a “pre-emptive” strike on 19 January.
If he does and Trump manages to countermand (informally, it is up to the commanders) instantly or if Russia defends but doesn’t counterstrike then Trump can call it off on the 20th but he will then have the Republicans in Congress opposing him righteously on everything for being a “coward” and “not standing up to Putin.”

Thanks for reminding those who see things from Putin's point of view that he's still a vicious thug.
This deterrence is just a beginning, and it's going to be effective and grow. It's been developing for sometime.

Not really. It was Obama’s appeasement that got us here. If you believe in peace, you won’t support more appeasement.
