The normally sedate Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions became the scene of a Fourth of July display when Sen. Elizabeth Warren led her fellow party members in demanding a second round of questioning of Betsy DeVos, President-elect Donald Trump’s choice as secretary of education.

The Massachusetts Democrat asked committee Chairman Sen. Lamar Alexander for a second day of hearings, and told him that if hearings were to be extended for an additional day, she would have “many, many more” questions to ask of DeVos.
The Tennessee Republican observed that precedent didn’t call for a second round of questioning. When President Obama’s two nominees for education secretary were being considered by the committee, there was only one round of questioning by committee members.
He added that although many Republican committee members weren’t happy with the single round of questioning, “out of deference to the president and the institution, we thought that it would be appropriate for us to defer to the president.”
He added that DeVos had already spent 50 percent more time under committee questioning than either of Obama’s picks.
Alexander’s answer clearly stuck in Warren’s craw.
Throughout Alexander’s patient explanation Warren’s posturing and fidgeting displayed discontent. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee loved the turnabout, as did his followers.

DeVos has indicated throughout her life that she placed students above teacher unions when it comes to education. She is pro-school choice, anti-Common Core and anti-union, and that’s what really sticks in the craw of the Democrats

Warren is poised to take Most Evil Witch title from Hitlery, but only because Hitlery is melting.

Fauxcahontas is one dirty piece of work.
I watched several of Warren’s exchanges this week and she came across as extremely unlikable and downright nasty.
At every opportunity I remind Democrats that if Hillary and the DNC hadn’t cheated in the primaries, they might have had a completely different landscape come today.
They retort that Russia hacked the DNC, and I ask if that would have mattered if the DNC wasn’t cheating.
They go on about how awful Trump is, and I ask if it would have been much easier to fight that had their candidate not been cheating in the primaries, and hiding public documents on a private server.
They’ve not been entertained. Poor babies. The DNC will once again pick the appropriate and billionaire approved candidate to run against Trump in 2020.
And cooking buffalo wings.
I think Warren takes the prize for annoying angry liberal hag. I don’t recall even Hillary acting the way Liz has in these hearings. Warren has that academic superiority attitude but on speed, throwing in a whole truck load of nervous agitated gyrations.

Perhaps the better metaphor is that Donald dispatched Hitlery by dropping a house (a white one) on her, so now that the Witch of the East is gone (or as Trump might say, “ding ding dong, the witch is gone”) we must contend with Fauxohontas, the Wicked Witch of the West ... who we’ll surely see melting more and more every day.

At the conclusion of the hearings, DeVos approached Warren with the intent too shake her hand but when Warren saw the gesture she waved off DeVos refusing the polite gesture of the nominee.
These are some nasty, nasty people and are full of themselves to a degree I have never witnessed before.
