More 'Rules' Sean Spicer Can Change for the Press Pool
American Thinker ^ | January 29, 2017 | Ned Barnett

As Miami-Dade Mayor proved by abandoning his city’s long-standing status as a Sanctuary City demonstrates, President Trump is a broom that is sweeping clean. He’s dramatically changing how government is “supposed" to work, focusing instead on making government work better for all Americans.

After what some considered a “false start,” Press Secretary Sean Spicer has emulated the President, imposing new procedures on a reluctant, self-focused press corps. Kudos.

This transformation began when Spicer – abandoning tradition – began his very first press Q&A by calling on less well-known reporters, instead of deferring to favored, “front row” media. He then doubled down by stripping the senior-most press corps member’s “right” to close each press briefing. Both of those “press perks” gave the White House press corps real power over these briefings.

That was in fact a great start, but even more is needed to take back control of press briefings.

Spicer is the President’s surrogate. He needs to abandon previous press secretaries’ behavior – many were just far too deferential to the press. That deference closed an open conduit between their Presidents and the American people. So Spicer should keep challenging the press corps’ prerogatives, resetting the ground rules of the game.

Frankly, Sean Spicer ought to initiate a rotating seating chart for the front section, 2-3 rows, like in volleyball. Then maybe the snarky bASS-turds would stop coveting the seats so much.

i think he should give the front row to legitimate sources/guest sources, then put five chairs out at a time and make the MSM play musical chairs for the rest of them.

The music, of course, should be “Pop Goes the Weasel”.

.......as much as I like that idea..then it would just give the presstitutes a chance to call him Nixon....

That ought to leave President Trump and his posse quaking in their boots.

Being called Nixon is far, far worse than anything they have been called, to date.

Nope, make them sit on a drafting stool in the back corner of the school room, facing the corner, and wearing a DUNCE cap. That's what we got for acting like a DUNCE in School. (I KNOW, I*’m telling how old I am.) I still think it would work wonders.)

I like a "take a number" machine like bureaucrats all over the country have in their offices.

Each reporter pulls one and Spicer has a random number generator on his phone (programmed for the number of reporters), calls 10 random numbers.

Your number gets called, you get a question. A QUESTION.

I get a kick out of the image of him answering his phone during a presser and saying, “Everyone hold on, I have Sean Hannity on the phone and he has some comments/questions. When he gets done, Laura Ingraham will follow.”

NIXON worked his butt off trying to “please” the Democrats.
They still executed him. He finally gave them what they
wanted when he resigned. OBAMA would not have resigned over
a few minutes of erased recording & then lying about it.
LYING was what he did. - They keep digging NIXON up and
executing him all over again. After Michelle, Pat Nixon
looks good to me.

Make them submit their question; in writing; before it all begins.

Put them in a ticket drawing barrel and pick them out!
