President Trump's Executive Order is illegal, embarrassing, and won't keep us safe. It's pure politics. My staff & I are closely monitoring the situation at LAX, and I urge the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection to follow injunction to stop unconstitutional travel ban.

It may be unconstitutional (pending a legal challenge), but how can it possibly be illegal if it is done according to the powers vested in the President under an existing Federal statute that is aimed at addressing precisely the situation these executive orders involve?
