For Trump Foes, Democratic Gains May Remain Elusive in 2018
ABC News ^ | February 5, 2017

Passionate protests against Donald Trump's presidency have swelled the ranks of Democratic activists, but their new enthusiasm faces a hard reality: Republicans remain well-positioned to retain their grip on power in the 2018 elections. While Republicans hold only a slim majority in the U.S. Senate, Democrats occupy most of the seats up for election in two years. That means they must play defense against Republicans, especially in 10 states that Trump won. In the U.S. House, Republicans will be aided by favorable district boundaries that were drawn to maintain GOP political dominance. In some cases, the congressional districts were gerrymandered to pack high numbers of Democratic voters into just a few districts as a way to create a greater number of Republican-leaning seats.

The 6 year term for the Senate is genius - though at least half of Senators should be appointed by State Legislatures as their representatives.

Elusive in the sense of “further losses”

Would love nothing more than after 2 years of pissing and moaning by the democrats and all the paid protesters rioting every week for more free stuff to see them lose several more seats in both houses - better yet, even get a 60 vote super majority (and maybe another 2-4 SC seats to boot).

Which means Trump should be able to appoint exclusively conservative SC (and other) judges through his term and be able to get them seated.

Previous Democrat gerrymanders packed the minorities into districts that guaranteed minority safe seats. Now they are blaming Republicans who were happy to comply with their wishes.

False; the only thing to harm the Republican majorities is if the Trump voters stay home and betray the country (unlikely) in conjunction with the reluctant Trump voters deciding they made a mistake and need a Democrat Congress to reign him in (unlikely if he succeeds with the economy and national security).

About two thirds of the Senate seats that are up next year are Rat seats...and about half of *them* are seats in states that DJT won *easily*.

It’s not going to help the Dems one damn bit if they keep up with these daily riots, burnings and demonstrations for two more years, and I’m not talking just about their Congressional delegation either.

Not to mention if they appoint Keith Ellison and a whole cadre of anti-white Dem leadership to overtly complete the process of driving white people out of the party, their losses will be staggering.

If they put Keith in you watch how the MSM cleans up his image you won’t even think it’s the same person.

The Senate map really couldn’t be better (thanks to getting reamed on this cycle in 2000, 2006, and 2012), we’re gonna gain seats there, it’s to the point that even though they only need 3 seats they admit they have a better chance of winning the House. And they have no chance of winning the House, I don’t even see how they could make a major gain there.

Governorships are more concerning in 2018. We gotta make sure we hold/take key states to control redistricting.

Our voters are more likely to turn out in midterms than rat voters (though they’re gonna try, that’s why the Trump hate is out of control to motivate scum to vote) and that doesn’t need to change under a Republican President, especially in a first term midterm. The biggest factor in the 2006 rat win was the unpopular war.
