I’ve been monitoring c-span all morning, but have had to mute it as one retard leftist idiot after another rails on and on with their talking points.
I don’t care what they have to say anymore about anything. Color me closed-minded.
Libturds never criticize the Clintons, Obamas, and so many other Democrats who send their kids to fancy private schools.
My teacher facebook friends are busy bees sounding the alarm at how awful she is going to be for education. I know it is all scary stuff the teacher’s unions, school administrator groups and maybe school board groups have sent out. I do not engage them. They are acting like caged wild animals a bit. I hope DeVos is confirmed and they actually see a great improvement. These groups got Teddy Kennedy’s “No Child Left Behind” and hated it. There isn’t anyone more pro teachers union than a Dem like Ted. So if they think, they would not be such puppets. Do they love common core? There wasn’t such outrage from them over that goofball Obama put in there. Seriously, they trust those group leaders and the leaders are leading them to extinction.
It’s the end of America as we know it!

If Charter Schools & School Choice allow the Fed dollars to follow the student and not the school would create competition and Public School loses
In Netherlands, you got a stipend from the Govt to educate your child. You shopped for the school. If you wanted Premium, you paid the difference. Schools competed for students and had to show results with Test Scores, placements to next level up etc.
We spend more money per kid than anywhere, yet our schools do not do near as well as they should or did in the 1960-1970s.
This school choice idea will blow up the locked in status quo and teacher union mega-Dem-Donor. Hence why Devos is not acceptable to many.

Actually, I believe that’s part of it, but the Dems are also beholden to the teachers unions, and teachers unions are against school choice and Devos is a big supporter of school choice. Never mind that school choice offers the poorest students in failing public schools the opportunity to escape and actually get an education. As far as the teachers unions and Dems are concerned, it’s about money and influence and to hell with the children.
Ok, did a little more digging and as far as urban public school teachers were concerned, anywhere from 25% to 40% send their children to private schools. The highest percentages were in Chicago, Baltimore and Washington DC metro area.
I’ll only be pleased if she presides over the shutdown of that entire department. It does nothing to educate anyone; it merely assists in propagandizing the young.
I belong to a large homeschool co-op (over 100 families). Many of the moms are former public school teachers, and a few of the dads are currently public school teachers. They all say no way on earth would they ever use the public schools.

One of my kids who has absorbed all the propaganda challenged me last night about this nomination.
And, to be honest, I’m sure her status as a GOP donor has something to do with the pick. And, to be even more honest, I’m not sure about her “qualifications” to run an Executive Department.
But what I told my kid (who is a senior in HS) was, “Look, the public school system and especially the education bureaucrats need a kick in the ass. She was picked to deliver the kick. And that’s all I really need to know about her”.
