Marijuana Marijuana
LSD LSD
Scientists make it
Teachers take it

"In October, a Gallup poll found that 60 percent of Americans support marijuana use — the highest number in 47 years."

Need to ask the percent that support marijuana use by doctors, dentists, pilots, police and car mechanics.

...A Brooklyn teacher told The Post that it’s a good thing city education officials don’t randomly test school workers for the drug. “If they did . . . they’d probably have to fire about 85 percent of their staff,” she said.

Random drug tests for teachers?

That would be a very good thing.

Won't happen with state legislatures, one suspects, it would take voter referendums.

(Works for me.)

“If they did... they’d probably have to fire about 85 percent of their staff.”

Then they would have just the 15% that currently do all the work left. That would be bad?

This cannot be TRUE! Because the teachers are so horribly underpaid, that most of them live in poverty (so we are frequently told). If they are so financially needy, it is not possible that they have excess funds available with which they can purchase marijuana.....

According to a Gallup poll conducted in August, the number of American adults using marijuana has nearly doubled in the past three years.

In 2013, 7 percent said they take hits. In 2016, that number was up to 13 percent.

Fundamentally transformed.

Teachers? Oh yeah. Been married to one for 36 years. No she does not smoke it.

The real questions is not whether teachers use it, but if they use it ON THE JOB!

And in all honesty, dealing with kids today - AND THEIR PARENTS TOO! - it helps to be high.

/sarc or no sarc. can’t decide.

Well that might help explain why people want the government to do everything for them. They’re too busy creating and spending 60-80 hrs a week on their job when it probably takes 40 hours..oh and using nontoxic paint on a table ignoring the toxic stuff you’re putting in your and other peoples (2nd hand smokes) lungs. Slow national and personal suicide. At least they’ll have a mellow look on their face in the morgue.

Which is why competition for government schools will not only improve education for all, it will create accountability for teachers.

Put the bong down and grow up! It is a selfish pursuit with no redeeming qualities. All the people I knew that toked up championed lives of lowest common denominator mediocrity or worse.
If you aren’t sick you shouldn’t be taking drugs!
Seems obvious doesn’t it?

So tired of it. But it will probably just get worse.

I was seeing this gal who was a well-respected public school teacher, plenty of awards, volunteered and served on the board of the local students with disabilities center, etc... The first couple of weekends, we ended the evening on her back porch and she would fire up a joint. I was never a pot smoker but heck, it made her horny so...

She explained that she very rarely smokes pot but occasionally, if it’s available, she will smoke it before going to bed, it relaxes her, etc...

She had two of her own kids in the high school where she taught. So, one day, we’re driving in her car and the phone rings and she has it on speaker. It’s her son, calling to let her know that yes, the guy with the weed called him back but he’s going to need “another $120”. She casually told him that she left “the” money in a jar in the kitchen cabinet and hung up. And she continued with our conversation without skipping a beat.

Damn! All of a sudden, she was like the chick from the show, Weeds! She gave her kids the cash and they would bring the pot home. Again, though, I was never a pot-smoker so when I realized that she was in it for more than just occasional use I decided I’d rather not be anywhere near the vicinity when the narcs get around to kicking in her door leading to the real possibility of seeing my mugshot alongside of hers under the headline, “Local teacher busted in drug raid.

Bummer. Fun while it lasted though.

“...A Brooklyn teacher told The Post that it’s a good thing city education officials don’t randomly test school workers for the drug. “

I got randomly drug tested as required for my job. It was a hassle but I was never afraid of failing.
