Press Secretary Sean Spicer responded to these tweets from Matt Drudge during today’s briefing:

Republican party should be sued for fraud. NO discussion of tax cuts now. Just lots of crazy. Back to basics, guys! pic.twitter.com/5uHIg8klq6

White House eyeing executive order targeting ‘conflict minerals’ rule… Meanwhile, is Obamacare penalty tax still in place?

— MATT DRUDGE (@DRUDGE) February 8, 2017

In response to the question from Breitbart White House correspondent Charlie Spiering, Spicer said there is no stalling going on, arguing that Obamacare is a “mammoth thing to repeal and replace.”

And with something that deals with a giant portion of the economy, he added, Trump’s goal “is to get it done right.”

I agree with you and while we’re at it let’s give him the “benefit of the doubt” on his motives relevant to anything!

Honestly i dont think any of the defeatist republicrats believed

A. A republican would win the election
B. If by some miracle a republican actually won it would be a reach across the aisle RyaNO McRomney type and not an actual conservative with a spine

Therefore they figured obamacare was here to stay

I’m going to say Sean Spicer is adequate, but barely, and no where up to the Trump brand on competence.

Trump did get both Spicer and Kellyanne cleaned up, starched and pressed, and in style, and befitting their position in the Trump administration.

I had hoped for Press Secretary, there would be a wordsmith, story teller and chess player all combined in one, to skewer the press, teach the press and bring them along toward civility. Sean is sweet but he’s not all that yet.

He said he didn’t want people dying in the streets. He did NOT say he wanted single payer for the US.

So why do I have insurance?!? I know the answer (to pay for someone else's care).

It's $6000 annually for one AIDS patient's medications—and you're paying for it...

Hopefully it’ll be fine but the idea that they hadn’t already come together as Republicans to agree on a starting point one two three years ago is what disturbs me. By way of example the Patriot Act was passed I think less than a week after 9/11 and the stimulus within a couple weeks of Obama taking office and those were both huge complicated things.

Indeed, he inherited this mess.

Yes, and indeed he inherited the huge DC immovable object of federal bureaucracy that is the real cancer in the country.

Look at the election results from DC... 100% ultra demoncrap Hillary forever.

Just decentralize: put the IRS in Goodland KS. Put the Dept of Agriculture in Peoria Illinois etc. Just don’t put anything in californica.

Well, true. But the Patriot Act was unusual. The mind tends to focus after 3,000 people are slaughtered. Who is going to vote against something called the Patriot Act and I have to assume the average senator/congressman did not read it or really know what was in it. They do have executive summaries, but in reality, I'm sure many thought we will fix later any bad things in the bill.

I don't recall the stimulus bill (slush fund) being passed that quickly, but I don't doubt you. So off the top of my head, I have to assume the media gives Obama major cover, the republicans are spineless and can't really challenge the bill even though they know it is a slush fund because they can't go against the first black president and newly inaugurated at that. In a show of unity, they must submit and go along.

The republicans never operate at that level of approval and harmony. The dems go after them and the press gives the dems cover. It is a powerful 1-2 punch. I mean someone at work today said it's too bad Trump nominated someone like Sessions to the AG post. Of course, it turns out this person got all their news from headlines and misleading and lying soundbites from the news. The media is an awful bunch to have to fight against. I have no answers on how to do it effectively. I have to say I love the media bashing by Trump. Everyone hates the media anyway. I think he needs to pick his battles because if he bashes the media multiple times a week, it gets old and becomes less newsworthy.

I feel like I woke up, only to find that during the night they changed our system of government to a tweetocracy.

You have a government lead by a man who is honest enough to tell you what he is doing and all you can do is whine?

Lot of folks gonna blame Trump whole it’s the RINOs that will be the problem - they got so used to the corruption and increasing control over the People they can’t give it up any more easily than Gollum could give up the ring....

[I have to agree with Matt Drudge on this: the gop has had 6 plus years to put together an alternative to pelosicare. And so they get into power and what.....they need another year to put together a bill? ]

That’s because establishment donors are perfectly fine with Obamacare.

Remember Boehner stating, “Its the law of the land”?
