And if you were standing up for Putin, you couldn’t be a better quisling apologist. Let Ukraine be free. And keep in mind the USA doesn’t send it’s jets to intrude into Canada’s airspace unless we’re on joint exercises.
Be that as it may, I don't think your comparison is even close. You will not find any two air forces more integrated in continental defense then the RCAF and the USAF. The vice commander of NORAD is always an RCAF officer.
And, FYI American fighters enter Canadian airspace all the time when not on "joint exercises". And they are welcome to do so because they are either under NORAD command or training. The local municipal airport where I live is an emergency field for US aircraft based in Selfridge Michigan. They land here all the time to familiarize themselves with the field. I love seeing them streak overhead.
Every country should enjoy the same freedom we do but, being realistic, the Ukraine is just not up to being a free nation as we understand it in North America. They will either lean on the west for support or Russia, it is inevitable. So what we have to ask ourselves it this: How far are we willing to go to support a nation that the Russians consider a lost province? Would we send ground troops to support a corrupt regime of oligarchs so they can be free of the corrupt Russian regime of oligarchs? Would we use nuclear weapons to back off the Russians? What is the point?
Personally, I wouldn't shed one drop of blood propping up the Ukraine. If the Russians want it that badly, let them have it. What have they to gain? A lot of unproductive hungry mouths as far as I can see. Let the Russians choke on it.
