Federal immigration authorities arrested at least 160 illegal aliens over multiple days and across multiple states in what the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is calling “routine” immigration enforcement actions.

Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Gillian Christensen confirmed to the Washington Post that “routine” immigration enforcement actions were taken this week in Los Angeles, California; Atlanta, Georgia; and two other cities that were not identified. The enforcement actions took place at home and workplaces.

The spokesperson noted it was an unprecedented step to issue statements on such raids while they were ongoing, but fast-spreading social media commentary triggered the agency to comment in this case.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) attested that 160 illegal aliens were arrested in the southern Californian region, including Los Angeles, according to NBC San Diego. The report stated that those with criminal histories and deportation orders were targeted over a five-day sweep.

You’re right. There are a hell of a lot more here than government and media will admit.

So we have to find a way to induce all of them to start the process of letting their illegals go and hiring citizens. Nobody wins if the businesses fail.

I agreed with you right up to here. These businesses will adapt quickly or will go out of business quickly. If they have been minding there business properly, they will have staying power (money in the bank), unlike your friend. What they will have to do is hire legally and take a cut in the profit and/or raise prices, oh well. All in all, no sympathy from this corner. Risk/Reward.

You could get rid of a few million in no time if ICE would open up Checkpoint Cholos on a multitude of intersections in Los Angeles.

Once deportations become commonplace, most will self-deport. Something like 75% self-deported during Eisenhower’s Operation Wetback.

During previous administrations, routine deportations were not newsworthy. Now they are. Think about the message that that sends to illegal aliens. Suddenly, they are hearing about deportation sweeps that they never heard of before—don’t you think that this might encourage them to self-deport? So we won’t have to deport every single one of them?

.Trump should make it clear that anyone who has to be forcibly removed will be barred from ever returning under any circumstance.

Yes, agree! Great idea. If they ever hope to come in legally, go back and start it now!

The employers should be fined for every illegal they hire - i believe that’s still the law. that can help build the wall.

Over 70% of those removals were right at the border. Only about 30% from the "interior". Usually when they had committed a crime.
