As Mexico prepares for the massive deportation of citizens who are undocumented migrants in the United States, some people’s thoughts have turned to the equitable treatment of people who cross the border — into Mexico. ADVERTISEMENT
With that in mind, a petition was launched two weeks ago at change.com calling on the Mexican government to impose a visa requirement on U.S. visitors.
“It’s very important that international relations be bilateral and equitable with regard to rights and responsibilities,” reads the petition, which has garnered 29,000 supporters since it was launched two weeks ago.
“We must be fair; the visa for United States citizens in Mexico, in addition to being a source of income and diplomatic reciprocity should be a form of border control during times of violence and terrorism such as those in which we are currently living.”
Great, watch what’s left of your tourist industry implode. Geniuses!
Considering how much of Mexico’s revenue comes from American tourism, I would think that making travel there more onerous could be cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face.

OK with me. They’ve got a right, just as we have, to set their own rules.
A Yank would have to be an idiot to go almost anywhere in ‘Latin’ America unless necessary.
We should agree with Mexico that in fairness to them we will implement the exact same immigration laws for their citizens as have in place for ours.

We need to change the name to Spanish America. Every country that was a Spanish or Portuguese colony is as corrupt as their mother country was. Not so in former British colonies of Canada and USA.
Mexican citizens using the Border Crossing Card may travel 55 miles into the U.S. - except in the Nogales/Tucson area, where travel to Tucson is authorized.
The Border Crossing Card (BCC) is acceptable as a stand-alone document (by itself) only for travel from Mexico by land, or by pleasure vessel or ferry. Together with a valid passport, though, it meets the documentary requirements for entry at all land, air, and sea ports of entry (to include travel from Canada). Note: You must be a Mexican citizen and a resident of Mexico to have a BCC.
I agree. A visa to go to Mexico and a visa for Mexicans to enter the US.
No argument from me if that is what they want to do since we do the same.
If you don't need a Visa now to go to Mexico and they require one in the near future it might hurt their tourist economy.
How about we just boycott Mexico. Just don’t go there.
Sounds reasonable. Any nation has the right to control who comes into their country and a duty to exclude those who might do harm. Tourists arriving in Mexico by air have to fill out landing cards now (don’t forget your mother’s maiden name). Business travelers have to fill out a visa form and pay a fee. Doesn’t sound like a big change.

Mexico has every right to regulate entry and limit entry, and if need be for any reason, expel foreign nationals from their country.
Generally, making it harder for people with money to visit and spend that money in your country is a bad thing, but one rarely considers the financial implications of Latin American machismo before displaying such to the world.

I’ve been doing international business for over forty years. The minute you leave one of the Chruchillian countries things start to become fuzzier, and less straight-forward. There are a few exceptions i.e. Americanized Japan and Korea but that is about it.
We need our own tarding/military bloc of the UK, Canada, NZ, Oz and the US.
As for me, I will never step one foot in the third-world shit hole, I will never spend one penny of MY money on anything associated with the third-world shit hole and I will seek to boycott anything Hispanic.

(No, I'm not so naive as to think I can actually keep anything from going, in one way or another, to benefit Mexicrap, but I'll give it one hell of a try...as I have done so for the last 20 years or so.)
Corruption in the US and Canada runs just as deep, only opportunity for individual citizens is better and the parasitic, like the Clintons and the Obamas, are better at keeping their hosts alive.
This would kill about half the cruise industry on the west coast and a bunch on the east coast. No Cancun, no Cozumel, no Costa Maya, no Cabo san Lucas, etc., etc.
Tell them we will lock them up but they don't get food/medicine/clothing unless family members bring them.....
Who cares? I would suspect Mexico would hesitate over demanding visas from Americans that would ruin their tourism business. Easier to vacation in Europe where visas not required.
