"Officials are anticipating a failure of the Auxiliary Spillway at Oroville Dam within the next 60 minutes (5:45 p.m.)," the California Department of Water Resources said on Facebook.
The Yuba County Office of Emergency Services said on Facebook an evacuation has been for "all Yuba County on the valley floor."
The city of Marysville and Yuba County have been ordered to evacuate, the Marysville Police Department tweeted.

Officials have ordered residents near one of the nation’s biggest dams to evacuate the area, saying a “hazardous situation is developing” after an emergency spillway severely eroded.
The emergency spillway of the Oroville Dam in Northern California could fail within an hour unleashing uncontrolled flood waters from Lake Oroville, the California Department of Water Resources said on Sunday afternoon.
People in downstream areas need to leave the area immediately, the department said.
Residents of Oroville, a town of 16,000 people, should head north toward Chico, and other cities should follow orders from their local law enforcement agencies, the Butte County Sheriff’s office said.
I live below a dam, but purposely built out of its path.
Maybe they will stop yamnering away about sanctuary cities since they will want federal dollars
I just saw a twitter feed. Showed two lanes of highway jammed trying to get out. Lanes coming in were empty. I’m guessing they have to keep those lanes empty for rescue vehicles to get back in, but it seems such a shame to not use them to escape.
