CIA Director Mike Pompeo flatly denied a report that the U.S. intelligence community is withholding intelligence from the president, in a statement issued late Thursday. "The CIA does not, has not, and will never hide intelligence from the President, period. We are not aware of any instance when that has occurred," Pompeo said, calling a Wall Street Journal report to that effect "dead wrong."
The report "impugns the integrity of thousands of professional intelligence officers by peddling gossip without citing a single example to support its claims," Pompeo said.
Citing current and former officials, the Journal reported Thursday that intelligence officials were withholding sensitive intelligence from President Trump because they were concerned it could be leaked or compromised.
Both the White House and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence denied the allegations.
But the report underscores deep uncertainty about the health of the relationship between the president and intelligence professionals.

I wonder if this is all sophistry on the part of the MSM. I am sure that the Intel agencies routinely, and with the President’s blessing, hide things. I am sure there are many things that a President would rather not know about (for example, specific sources and methods), lest he inadvertently disclose them. And then there is the possible need for plausible deniability in certain matters.

Don’t trust Pompeo. He is a CIA fanboy, he was a Rubio supporter. He is a new cold war supporter and remove Assad supporter including a no fly. He wants the trivial reforms at the NSA rolled back and is a huge fan of total domestic surveillance, and he said he wants Snowden extradited an executed.
Last, he is from Kansas. That always adds a nutty X-factor into things.
Bottom line, he isn’t there think he needs to restrain and clean out the CIA. He wants them more powerful, protected, and pursuing its same old neocon agenda.
The Flynn situation had the unmistakable stench of James Clapper all over it.
By now Clapper and his stench have probably learned to keep quiet and to stop trying to usurp President Trump!

Flynn was not fired against his will. For some reason people don’t understand that. I’m very surprised. Do you not grasp that Flynn CREATED this operation? The position of National Security Adviser is almost ceremonial. When the leaks began in September of 2016, it was FLYNN who crafted this sting. He hasn’t been sacrificed. Instead, he’s working behind the scenes to root out corruption in the IC.
Today, at his press conference, Donald Trump said he thinks the leaks will stop. This is because the leakers are looking at very long prison sentences. Like Tom Cruise in The Firm, Donald Trump now knows everything.

The response seems weak to me. He should not take the charge so seriously. He should laugh it off. That is ... assuming the story is false. Then again the story could be somewhat true and there could be Obama remnants in there intentionally hiding data that goes to Trump.

Intelligence briefing is one thing. Sources and methods are another. Any president should not be bothered or burdened with knowledge of the intricacies of intelligence gathering — especially if it is done illegally. Consequently, the security clearance level for POTUS is only about half way up the classification chain.
My hunch is that Mike Pence actually came to the vice-presidency with a higher technical clearance level than the president by virtue of his experience in military intelligence. Anybody got any good info on that?
