Attorney General Jeff Sessions denied meeting with Russian officials during the course of the presidential election to discuss the Trump campaign, he told NBC News in exclusive remarks early Thursday.
"I have not met with any Russians at any time to discuss any political campaign," he said, "and those remarks are unbelievable to me and are false. And I don't have anything else to say about that."
Sessions was also asked whether he would step aside from investigating alleged ties between Trump's surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government — as a growing chorus of Democrats and some Republicans have demanded.
"I have said whenever it's appropriate, I will recuse myself," he said. "There's no doubt about that."
Sessions' spokeswoman confirmed Wednesday night that he had met with the Russian ambassador to the U.S. before the presidential election last year in his capacity as a then-senator — raising questions about whether he misled fellow senators during his attorney general confirmation hearing in January.
Spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores told NBC News that Sessions, who was a prominent Trump surrogate, did have a conversation with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak last year. The meeting was first reported by The Washington Post on Wednesday.

In January, Sessions was asked by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) for answers to written questions, including if he had “been in contact with anyone connected to any part of the Russian government about the 2016 election, either before or after Election Day?” The attorney general was not asked if he had been in contact with anyone connected to any part of the Russian government for any reason during the entire course of the year."

Thankful that the specificities in the written question are standing clarification on the record (who knew Leahy would be so handy ;). The before or after election day clause seems irrelevant with the latter also being illogical - one wouldn’t communicate with Russian to influence an election that has already happened.
Sessions is a barrier to their plan to impeach Trump over Russia. They need to compromise him in order to get a special prosecutor. This is an attempt to do that.

Look at it this way; better a recusal to move on, vs a resignation. There will be many other cases for him to weigh in on.
Definitely fake news. Fake headline too, doesn’t even match the article.
BUT. If people are worried, don’t just spend your time here. Shoot messages to the WH. Encourage them and tell them to fight. Trump has shown that he listens to us. Shoot messages to Congress.

This all seems like a typical CIA coordinated disinformation/regime-change operation.....
All the falsified news stories filtered through various news outlets.....typical foreign CIA destabilization, Soros-coordinated CIA color-revolution, tactics...
President Trump needs to have AG Sessions instruct the DOJ to investigate whether the CIA and Director Brennan (former communist in college) are involved in coordinated sedition against the Trump Administration...
And, to issue an Executive Order cancelling the EO issued by O’Commie making CIA domestic disinformation activities legal....
