Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) is not immediately calling for Attorney General Jeff Sessions' resignation following a Washington Post report [1] that Sessions, while serving as a Trump campaign adviser, failed to disclose his two contacts with the Russian ambassador to the U.S.
Instead, Franken wants Sessions to recuse himself from all Russia-Trump investigations; he wants the investigation turned over to an independent prosecutor; and he very much wants a look at Donald Trump's tax returns.
Speaking to MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Thursday, Franken said Sessions was inaccurate when he told Franken at his Jan. 10 confirmation hearing, "I did not have communications with the Russians."
Sessions met with the Russian ambassador once in September in his Senate office; and he spoke to the same ambassador (and others) in July, at an event sponsored by the Heritage Foundation.

I think there should be a special prosecutor called to investigate the voter fraud that put Franken in office.
This is always what “the Russians” has been about, get at Trump’s tax returns. Why? Because the media knows, NO MATTER what is in them, they’ll be able to rake him over the coals.
- Did he give enough to charity?
- Is he as rich as people thought?
- Where is his income coming from?
...
It’s endless. Which is what they want, an endless series of “scandals” to take him down.
Franken is a perfect example of why congressmen and senators should be drug tested.
MORON
Special “prosecutor”?
What “LAW” was broken in not publicly releasing his tax returns?
NONE!!!! MORON
They got nothing else...
Bravo, elect him Again.. he he
I’d sure like to audit his first and second election returns!!
So, what is their obsession with tax returns?
