Franklin Graham Calls for Christian boycott of Disney's ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (opens March 17)

Will Christians roll over and allow Disney to push their LGBT agenda on an audience entirely too young to be exposed to this nonsense by buying a ticket, and thereby supporting, the studio’s highly anticipated remake of a beloved children’s classic?

Conservative evangelist Franklin Graham is calling on Christians to put their money where their mouth is when it comes to the upcoming Disney Beauty and the Beast remake.

View image on Twitter View image on Twitter Follow Franklin Graham ✔ @Franklin_Graham I met Walt Disney when I was a young boy—He'd be shocked at what has happened to the company he started. #TBT https://www.facebook.com/FranklinGraham/posts/1423857191003791 … 1:07 PM - 2 Mar 2017 802 802 Retweets 2,780 2,780 likes In a Facebook post published Thursday that has as of this writing received over 150,000 likes and almost 100,000 shares, Graham wrote:

“Disney has aired a cartoon with same-sex couples kissing. It has also been announced that their new movie “Beauty and the Beast” will feature a gay character in an attempt to normalize this lifestyle. They’re trying to push the LGBT agenda into the hearts and minds of your children—watch out! Disney has the right to make their cartoons, it’s a free country. But as Christians we also have the right not to support their company. I hope Christians everywhere will say no to Disney. I met Walt Disney when I was a young boy—he was very gracious to me, my father Billy Graham, and my younger brother when we visited. He would be shocked at what has happened to the company that he started.” The controversy erupted when director Bill Condon told Attitude Magazine that one of his film’s characters, LeFou, has an “exclusively gay moment” on-screen with villain Gaston.

“LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston,” Condon said. “He’s confused about what he wants. It’s somebody who’s just realizing that he has these feelings. And Josh [Gad, who plays LeFou] makes something really subtle and delicious out of it. And that’s what has its pay-off at the end, which I don’t want to give away. But it is a nice, exclusively gay moment in a Disney movie.”

Graham’s comments could merely be the opening salvo. On Friday, Time reported an Alabama movie theater’s announced refusal to screen the movie when it releases on March 17.

Naturally, social justice warrior types have praised Disney’s openness and “inclusivity,” but might Disney have crossed a bridge too far by including their social justice warrior nonsense in a movie that depends on an entirely different demographic to be successful?

Disney thinks it’s just a statement against gays. It’s actually more than that. Parents don’t want their small children exposed to the issue of exploring sexuality/gender in Beauty and the Beast. The issue doesn’t belong there, is out of place and offensive.

Good! It’s about time the Christian right leaders took a stand like this-

How about girlcotts. A preferred list (I said list not lust) along with the spiritual points it emphasizes. Or for those who must be curious, a consideration list of the good bad and ugly. Most mixed messages have some virtues.

Christian center may yet prevail.

Disney, and this gay crap is why we quit going to Disneyland in the 1970’s. We are, and have already been boycotting.

It gets polarized that way... So what’s new under the sun?

I believe the modern generations no longer can afford the luxury of pretending that what is no longer in closets can be ignored.

Whole areas of the power of Christ need to come back on our radar. Not the eyes of the ostrich but that of the Savior.

I’ve wondered what the Christian community can do beyond turning up its nose. Beauty and the Beast is from a public domain origin. Why not a Veggie Tales version that features ex gays?

Graham didn’t even have to say this. Any true Christian who knows about the gay kiss would avoid it anyway.

What is nefarious is the sneaky gay stuff that appears everywhere with no warning. I wish there were a website where you could check out movies for gay content ahead of time. I am one of those people who don’t like to know about a movie’s plot and other analysis ahead of time, but I would like to know if there is gay content.

It would not be valid to criticize such a site as “homophobic,” because no judgment would be given, just the facts. Theoretically, people who like gay content could use the site as well to know about movies they would choose to see.

Just a thought.

There are reasons the old hands around the park call it “The Tragic Kingdom.”

I knew kids in the ‘70s who worked the park when Walt was still living. If he encountered you on his way across the backstage area, he’d greet you, and actually pause a moment to treat you like a worthy human being. After Eisner took the helm — he wouldn’t give the time of day to anybody not wearing a suit. Changed the entire atmosphere of the park, and the customers could — and still can — smell the stench.

It does not appear that Disney actually sponsors gay days at the theme park but rather some gay organization sets the dates and plans the event. The gay days attendees simply buy tickets to the park for those days and show-up en masse.

Had Walt Disney encountered me in the 1970’s, I would have freaked out.

Many families save up for a visit to Disney World or Disney Land and when they show up it is “Gay Day”. It is a shame.

Good. Between its homo agenda and Leftwing media properties, Disney proves itself to be a vile operation.

Don’t patronize those that piss in your shoes.

We don’t try to ignore gays. We just don’t like their sexual preferences or their sexual behavior constantly shoved down our throats at every event.

I had two gay neighbors I absolutely adored. But they didn’t stand around kissing or making a point of even holding hands in front of us. It wasn’t that they were ashamed, they were respectful.

As I am to others. Sex is for the bedroom, not the big screen.

Independent of the Gay thing...which was a stupid idea, why do a remake of the ‘91 version.
Even today the ‘91 version is considered one of Disney’s best.

I guess Graham’s father must have stablized.
I recall a lot of talk three years ago, that Billy Graham didn’t have much time left. Sometimes the doctors are wrong.

Franklin Graham is a favorite of mine. Although he’s in charge of a missionary organization, he doesn’t behave in a compliant manner in order to quell liberal rumblings. After Paul Ryan and the GOP-led Congress funded Planned Parenthood, he left the Republicans and denounced them.

He has become a confidant of DJT.
