House Republicans Release Plan To Repeal and Replace Obamacare: Key Highlights
Zero Hedge ^ | 3/6/17 | Tyler Durden

Posted on 03/06/2017 8:39:05 PM PST by 198ml

Update: A seemingly angry (judging by the tone) Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer obviously had to lash out and dismiss the Republican's plan for "TrumpCare"...

"Trumpcare doesn't replace the Affordable Care Act, it forces millions of Americans to pay more for less care. This plan would cut and cap Medicaid, defund Planned Parenthood, and force Americans, particularly older Americans, to pay more out of pocket for their medical care all so insurance companies can pad their bottom line.

It cuts taxes on the rich to make middle class families pay more. To make matters worse, this sham of a replacement would rip treatment away from hundreds of thousands of Americans dealing with opioid addiction, breaking the President's word that he would expand treatment, not cut it.

This bill is a giveaway to the wealthy and insurance companies at the expense of American families, and Senate Democrats will work hard to see that it is defeated."

Wow, sounds like a nightmare. Let's see what the bill actually says.

There’s one sure way to tell how bad Trump’s plan is: write a provision exempting DemonicRATS.

Planned Parenthood is part of our health care plan?
Who knew?

Everyone who is going to have something to say about this and DEMAND be in it . . . make damn sure you’re confident what you demand will get through a narrow Senate majority.

Because if it doesn’t, there’s pretty much no worse possible outcome to the whole Obamacare issue than “the Republicans couldn’t pass a bill.”

"Planned Parenthood is part of our health care plan?"

Yes, but you're only required to pay for it if you're a member of Little Sisters of the Poor.

I am being charged $700 a month for medicare, which is something we already pre-paid for over the past 40 or 50 years, however long it has existed... And I moved to a new home a year ago and haven’t even looked for a doctor here, we never go to a doctor I am 66 years old and I don’t run to doctor for every sniffle, rarely go to doctor, have never had major surgery, etc. But I am paying seven hundred bucks a month for Medicare and it covers nothing.

I gotta repeat that: “Repeal and Replace” = “We can do socialism better than Obama”

Such a tragic, tragic, heartbreaking deception by these two-faced con artists and frauds. AGAIN.

Despicable.

It is not a repeal. It is a tweak. It is still slated to fail and end up as Single Payer. That is what the Democrats want. That’s what the Republicans want. I hope the President vetoes it and tells them to do better. They will not. Their financial well being is tied up in this monster.

The Republicans are not going to pass a bill that actually returns medicine to the market. Republicans are socialists as much as Democrats are. They just maintain that they can do it better.

How does “Obamacare Lite” lower my premium from $800 per month back to the pre-Obamacare level of $350 a month?

It doesn’t!

I guess with the mandate gone, we can do a nationwide boycott, if it passes.

End health coverage for all elected officials and their staff... let them deal in the market place like their constituents. Healthcare will be fixed in a month.

This pitiful attempt will lead to single payer within a year. The preservation of the IPAB in the GOP "plan" tells you that. The IPAB part of the law changes our Constitutional structure in profound ways, that the GOP Congress has come to accept its necessity indicates that the old system has truly come to an end.

You are correct, both parties want single payer, desperately.

And it's OK - as long as there is a robust private option for those who want better, or faster, and can pay for it. Hillarycare had five years in Federal prison for doctors who treated patients "outside the system" - this we cannot allow.

Please please don’t let this get labeled Trumpcare. It is not a government health plan! It is just health insurance by private health insurance companies! I hope everyone will resist calling it Trumpcare!

To be clearer, you are paying $700 for a Medicare supplement plan to pay for things Medicare doesn't pay for. I forget what the Medicare Part B deduction from Social Security is now, about $120 a month. Anything beyond that is not Medicare. It is private insurance.

I am lucky that in our area we have a few providers for Medicare Advantage, which replaces Medicare, in my case with a Blue Cross HMO. Medicare pays Blue Cross to administer it for me. I don't deal with Medicare at all. And my "premium" for my Advantage plan is zero. Last year I had Advantage with Highmark, but they went up to $75 a month this year, so I switched to BC, which still has a no premium plan.
