Thanks. I heard Ryan say that the repeal of Obamacare will come in multiple “phases.” First phase is the things the GOP promised that are permitted in a reconciliation bill. Examples of “not permitted” in that kind of bill would be interstate insurance freedom and malpractice reform. So they would get a list of filibuster-proof items like repealing Obamacare taxes out of the way first. Then come the harder parts, which I imagine include horse swapping, sausage making, and arm twisting.

I’m not sold on Ryan’s explanation.

Another group with Rand Paul has asked why they don’t put up another plan that everyone agreed with last year. It cancels out Obamacare outright.

I’m not a big Paul fan, but sometimes he’s right on target. Is he here? He may very well be.

I am not a Ryan fan at all, and I suspect anything he does.

Keep in mind, every RINO we’ve seen can explain their treachery in dulcet tones.

McCain was so good at it, he convinced Obama it was a great idea to arm and fund terrorist organizations.

To be fair, he did say (or someone advocating for it did) the Good al Qaeda.

I certainly do not trust Ryan on everything (he was talking about amnesty a while back), but the idea of getting the easy things done first makes some sense. I don’t object to getting rid of the mandate and taxes. It seems to me that the danger is the GOP could pass a reconciliation bill similar to what they proposed recently, declare victory, and we would still be stuck with too much of the original obamacare, including thousands of pages of HHS regs written after the law was passed. Passing *something* takes some of the pressure off, but if that leads to permanent inaction on the other issues, that is not really what we want.

The three phase way is the only way we can get this passed. If we go for the whole enchilada we'll get nothing. Pass this third now - then do the rest soon ...

The Rand Paul (and group from yesterday [I believe]), touted a bill all Republicans supported last year, which outright cancelled out Obamacare.

That would seem better to me.

We’ll have to see how it plays out.

Thanks for the response.

I just hope Trump is not being screwed over here.

He knows this bill as is, would hury him. Socialist lite won’t fly.

If he is, we all are.

Socialist lite is not what we were looking for. It’s not what he promised.

I’m hoping the Paul and company bill gets lofted.

With this guy, you never know what his end game plan is. Just when you think he may be missing it, it turns around smelling good.

Well, we’ll have to wait and see if it winds up smelling good, or just smelling up the place.
