It is reported that early on this NYAG had meet with Trump and Session and had been told he could stay on..

So im inclined to think this NYAG knew of the wiretaps by Obama on Trump and the NYAG ok it and Trump has now found out

Bharara wasn’t bad, as Democrats go. he was all over Cuomo and DeBlasio.

Still, when he refused to resign and dared the president (the AG, technically) to fire him, he left President Trump and Attorney General Sessions no choice.

That was false reporting. Trump team denies ever promising he could stay on.

I posted this earlier on another thread, but I believe it’s appropriate here:

Dinesh’s account of his trial and incarceration in a halfway house was the first book I read in 2016.

I don’t always agree with Dinesh, but I have never doubted his integrity.

He wrote at length about how Bharara insisted on maximum punishment for a technical violation of the campaign finance laws that should have, at worst, drawn a small fine and a reprimand.

Later on, I read from other sources about what a great prosecutor Bharara supposedly was, and how close he was to nailing some really corrupt bigwigs.

Well, that’s possible. But what I know for sure is the way Dinesh was railroaded.

So, it’s hard for me to form a mental picture of Bharara as some kind of moral paragon. Based on Dinesh’s account, I don’t get the impression that he would be trustworthy in a GOP administration.

I support the firing but DD was guilty and should not have been making illegal contributions. Pretty stupid.

I agree. Dinesh D’Souza is too smart of a guy to have made such a stupid mistake.

I still think this this AG maybe involved with the wiretap on Trump... did this NYAG area cover Trump Towers?..

Because remember the tap on the Trumps server was supposedly to investigate “financial crime” ...and this AG is supposed to specialize in going after the New York rich and powerful committing financial crimes. Who more rich and Powerful in New York then Trump?

So in an investigation / spying was going on in New York on Trump under the cover of Trump committing Financial crimes I’m having a hard time believe this guy was not involved in that

Its odd this one NYAG tried, of all the AG that were asked to resign, try to hold on and its the same time the stink about spying at Trump Towers is going on

He shouldn’t have gotten 2 years over that joke of a crime.

When the law ceases to be just, it ceases to be law.

As a matter of fact, Manhattan would indeed be his district as US Attorney

• abolish amendment 17, this makes us a republic again, see Federalist #63
• limit the judiciary to yes/no decisions,
• let governors cancel a SCOTUS decision by majority vote,
• mandate Constructionist rulings by the SCOTUS,
• and reinforce states powers EXPLICITELY using Article 1 section 8 – an iteration of the powers of congress.

So with server being investigated as a financial crime in his District.

I say the odd are about 99% that this AG awas involved proved or at least came cover for the wiretap of Trump

This guy was an Obama appointee and well connected to the Dems

So its makes sense the foot drag right now. He involved wiretapping of Trump.

It will be interesting to see who specifically requested the warrant, assuming there even is one and it was done legally. I'm not a lawyer, but I believe in USC 12 the person or entity being "searched" does not neccesarily get notice of said warrant but not for up to more than 180 days. So if it was legal there seems to be a cutoff point at how long you can delay notification of the warrant. Maybe an attorney can clear that up. Assuming it is not FISA, and we are pretty sure there was an additional warrant that was not FISA according to reports. Title 3 electronic surveillance warrants do indeed have to be signed by the US Attorney and the Deputy US attorney. Title 3 Electronic Surveillance

so you are correct, because the US Attorney there was as you say.

Who went to prison when the Clintons and Gores were accepting illegal Chinese donations?

A standard modus operandi of the left is the selective enforcement of the law.

They prefer laws which are obtuse, vague, and imprecise. They prefer laws that have no basis in morality or even ethics. They want lots of these laws. Mountains of red tape and bureaucracy that makes every person a criminal and every citizen a slave. Arbitrary and capricious.

Then they use such laws as a sledge hammer to attack their political rivals.

They also refuse to prosecute the most blatant, open abuses of power. They ignore rampant political corruption and crime within their ranks. These seem to be badges of honor rather than disqualifies from serving in public office.

The lists of examples is endless.

Just because he’s dragged DeBlasio into his offices for a few hours doesn’t mean he was all over him. With a new prosecutor from a Republican administration, DeBlasio has much more to worry about.

The earlier stories where Sessions/Trump “asked Preet to stay” confused the issue - now it is starting to make sense that he is among those being let go...

Great post. Until now, I couldn’t understand why Bharara was canned. It’s clear, now. There is no way an unbialed prosecutor would single out D’Souza and ignore all the corrupt Democrat donors in NYC.

“... but DD was guilty and should not have been making illegal contributions.”

That may be, but we all know that if this prosecutor had investigated the Hildabeast and the Clinton Foundation with any serious intent, Hillary would be doing time in prison just like Dinesh. We hate the selective investigating and prosecuting which always seems to favor the libbie side.

There’s a HUGE (Yuge?) list of people who need presidential pardons ASAP. Dinesh is one of them.
