US will 'not repeat' claims GCHQ wiretapped Donald Trump
BBC ^

The US has agreed not to repeat claims the UK's communications intelligence agency wiretapped Donald Trump in the weeks after he won the US election.

GCHQ denied allegations made by the White House that it spied on Mr Trump as president-elect.

No 10 has been assured the allegations would not be repeated, a spokesman for Prime Minister Theresa May said.

He said it had been made clear to US authorities the claims were "ridiculous and should have been ignored".

“It’s obvious that instead of watching the press conference you only got the fake news version from a hard left source.”

The point that Spicer was making was exactly that none of the stories could be substantiated. Be it about Russians or wiretapping.

What you noted is now beyond laughable with less than 60 days of Trump being president with all of the fact free/fake news.

We get exposed to even on Free Republic.

I say screw the UK. They don’t treat us as though we are their subjects period.

IIRC the only reference made to GCHQ was by Judge Napalitano on FBN.

The Brits don’t like it fine, but don’t talk down to our government as though we are subjects of the Crown needing to have our behavior corrected to their liking.

I’d rather not discuss it publically. I have not mentioned anything that is not in the public domain, but I’d rather not give away personal information.

Too bad Britain, a former MI6 agent was paid by the Democrats to come up with nonsense about Trump. All if fair in politics.

Thanks for saving me a search. Well done. I remember this very well and am therefore, not surprised that the Obama administration may have tapped the Trump Campaign.

The situation became critical when MSM, Obama and his minions took down and attempted to take down Trump's cabinet (General Flynn and Sessions) and leaked top secret conversations between Trump and leaders of Mexico and Australia. The gloves came off and they needed to come off. The Deep State played hardball with a man with brass balls.

At work our browersers launch with yahoo or msn as the landing page.

Saw an article about a Republican demanding Trump apologize to Obama for making the charge.

Scrolled down to the comments (since I didn’t see one in the article) looking for pressure on Obama to apologize to Trump for making hysterical claims that the Rusdians colluded with Trump to steal the election.

Didn’t find such a call but I did see a whiny lib swearing that Obama didn’t know anything about Merkel being tapped and that whence found out he put a stop to it. Except he was the one who called for it and there is still no defense of why Flynns conversation was recorded or more importantly leaked to the press.

They have to be very selective and stick to their missions.

They have to be very selective in a search like "find all communications between Russia and Trump"?

> There really better be strong evidence for what Trump wrote on Twitter other than news reports because he will have no credibility after this strong allegation. So much to go after Obama, Hillary and co. and he better not have messed up with this.

I love our President, but I really wish he and Spicer wouldn’t show their cards until they’re ready to smack down a Royal Flush.

Also, you don’t want to anger your staunchest ally. This was a misstep.

Not a misstep but a total and complete embarrassment.

Insulting our strongest ally is amateur hour, which this White House has been since January 20th

I have to agree sadly.

People taking about 4d chess and trolling the media. All well and if he produces the evidence then fair enough.

If he doesn’t, he’s just going to look really silly.

I just don’t know why he would have made the claim
Unless he had the proof.

......”ridiculous”? ....”should have been ignored”? ....

.....( sounds like the Brits don’t want to talk about what they do for the CIA & have gotten continuing buy-in from persons in this Administration to keep their dirty little Unconstitutional reciprocal domestic surveillance scheme hidden )

There are some holes in that assertion.

It looks like the BBC should write a headline that actually matches the article.
