Given the alarming uptick in shootings on Bay Area freeways, including two fatalities this year, the California Highway Patrol on Friday sought to reassure the public that most of the crimes were not random but rather gangs targeting each other.

92 freeway shootings! I think calling it an unacceptable level of violence an understatement.

So pay no attention to those stray bullets flying around. They aren’t aiming at you on purpose.
How reassuring-—they are just gang members shooting at eachother.

REASSURE THE PUBLIC? So it’s supposed to be “reassuring” to know that they aren’t actually targeting you, but they may want one of their bullets to “play through” your car as they try to kill a rival gang member? So now we are simply regarded as “collateral damage.”
Oh, yeah, that makes me feel better. The bullet that killed Mrs. innocent motorist was just a stray from two gangs shooting it out twice a week, on the average. How about, Sanctuary Bay Area, you open the freaking door to ICE so we can get rid of the Asian, Black, African, Mexican, Central American, Russian and Amish gangs so they aren’t around to shoot at each other. Time to go Wyatt Earp on gangsters and clean up Dodge City like it’s the Philippines.
Add to that the fact that those gangs are mostly illegals, and the solution becomes obvious: deport the illegals. But, oops, that means deporting tens of thousands of DemonCrap voters.
Shootings are up in Chicago and it seems to have spilled over onto the expressways where there also has been an increase over the past few years. The expressways are patrolled by Illinois State Police and the troopers were spread thin in the past. Might be that the gangsters figure odds of being caught are less than doing their shooting in the neighborhoods where CPD are, relatively speaking, better staffed, and more visible.

Can’t see how it is reassuring to know that brutal gang wars have bullets flying all over the freeways. Oh, well, so long as they aren’t AIMING at me I feel so much better!
Indeed, it’s not quite a reassurance.
However, it is a bit different from deliberate random pot-shots a`la Beltway Sniper.
But, but, aren’t guns banned in San Francisco?
Oh yes, I forgot only if you are a law abiding citizen. But if you are a gang member you get your stash of guns from your local congressmen. You know, the one that was peddling guns out of Chinatown while voting yes for every gun control legislation that come up while he was in office.
Well, as long as it is only gangs targeting gangs then it must be ok. I have no problem with gang members killing each other. It is the innocent bystander that is shot or killed that is the problem. Pretty cavalier attitude by the highway patrol
The shootings in the North Bay area of Oakland to Richmond and over to Antioch are black street gangs. The shootings in the South Bay San Jose area are Hispanic gangs. In general not Trump supporters.
