One way or the other, I think it’s Paul “The Snake” Ryan who will get bitten, not Trump.

My message to the Freedom Caucus: If you want to lose in 2018, vote “NO”.

Conservatives didn’t draw first blood.

From what I have been reading Trump would not give out a “final offer”. I think he would be happy to sign legislation where there is a consensus. However I can see Ryan doing playing games.

You can’t repeal only because Obamacare gutted the industry. The plans that used to be there are gone. The whole thing has to be rebuilt, which is why a replace HAS to be there.

How will the replacement rebuild the industry? Repeal it and I think you would be amazed at how fact the insurance industry can come up with solutions. Leave government controls in place and you continue their slow decline.

Agreed. However... Trump ran on a platform of making deals — “we’re gonna make the best deals,” etc. And he followed through on this so far — made deal with automakers, military contractors, the manufacturer of AF1, etc. He’s shown that a phone call is sufficient to get these people moving.

WHY, then, can’t he call the healthcare providers and say, “We’re going to get rid of Obamacare. We want to put your businesses back into the free market. Put together some consumer health plans that can be available and ready to roll in two months, and then we can get your industry moving again.”

Why not deals with the healthcare providers??

Actually, he is trying to make deals, and this is the way. The first hurdle is repealing Obamacare and getting it through a divided Congress. This is the last hope at doing so, and blocking it means Obamacare stays going forward. Also causes big problems with tax reform because they can’t carry over 50-needed votes to that, if they don’t do it with this bill.

The MSM hasn’t told people just how badly Obamacare has gutted the health industry, so many still think you can simply repeal and go back to how things were...which isn’t the case. And whit the RINOs infesting the GOP, Trump has to make a bill that can get through, and then add phases as it goes along. That’s where people can hold their representative accountable, by making sure they do phase 2 & 3. But not passing this will end any hopes of ever ending Obamacare, and possibly sink Trump.

Dems are praying for a blocked vote

‘fought against the Establishment in recent years’

Are you counting the fact that the Freedom Caucus gave Ryan a super-majority as part of their fight against the Establishment?

[Incidentally, I want them to stand firm against Ryancare—and I hope they do a better job than they did when it came to opposing arch-Establishment hack Ryan himself.]

“The alternative is keeping Obamacare, not having tax reform, tanking the economy, and gifting the Dems back Congress.”

While I believe you have your reasons to say that, I must say those are facts not in evidence. I believe you are leaping to the absolute worst case scenario along every step of the progression and using that as a logical bludgeon.

That is exactly what Republican leadership is doing.

You mean the freedom caucus that put RINO Ryan as the speaker of the house?

So when the Freedom Caucus fights against Ryan and RINOcare, shouldn't we support them??

Exactly! How can this be so hard to figure out? Repeal Odumbocare. Then we are back to where we were 8 years ago. Certainly far better than where we are today.

Because that’s the deal he made with Ryan.

One would think. But then there would be no "victory".

Trump always said he would repeal and replace. That is the problem IMO. He needs to repeal only and let the free market replace.

So what? I’m against “conservatives” who want to copy the unconstitutional acts of the Left. That will not get us to where we need to be - the restoration of our Free Constitutional Republic. Those who want to copy the corruption, demagoguery, and unconstitutional tyranny of the Left are part of the problem, not the solution.

Because that’s the deal he made with Ryan.

Well that was dumb of him. Why let Ryan run your agenda?

So then your point is that the Freedom Caucus will fold like they did on the Ryan for Speaker vote.

That's probably right.

That's not true anymore.
It is now the RINOs who oppose the AHCA:

These RINOs are perfect targets for Trump's revenge.

No, my point was to share your puzzlement over the Freedom Caucus getting criticized for actually holding out for what everyone said they wanted - repeal.

That said, they may cave. I guess we'll see.
