The question, at this point, is which party is destroying itself faster?

The HoR and Senate are two distinct lavish country clubs. I have no doubt that if they could get away with passing a vote that gave them lifetime tenure with no voting, they would - to a man j- vote in favor of it. Bar none.

I know that snake of a Congressman of mine would do it in a heartbeat.

I think single payer is the next stop and it will pass with minority Republican support, majority Democrat support and Trump will sign it facing a veto proof margins.

I’ve said it since day one, “Republicans helped pass ObamaCare from the beginning”.

The reason it was pulled was that nobody wanted the public to see how few votes it got at the end of all that nonsense.

Click bait headline and a vanity post. If you write it and you post it there is a separate forum for it.

The conressional Republicans were never serious about repealing Obamacare. When was the last time the government handed any power back to the people?

So only 18 members, presumably from the Freedom Caucus, opposed the bill because it was 0bamacare 2.0??? So some Freedom Caucus members ultimately supported this dingaling bill?

Pretty soon, cock-a-roaches and bedbugs will have more favorable ratings than Congress.

PING!

The Freeddon Caucas opposed it for being too liberal.

Trump gave Ryan the chance to put the bill forward that would have rid us of Obamacare.
Ryan pulled the bait and switch and a few true conservatives saw it for what it was, a half baked scheme to leave parts in place and do nothing to replace the entire mess.
Good for them.

Trump just got his first lesson.....and hopefully the only lesson he needs....on working with the Establishment that infests the Capitol.
He doesn't need to hold ANY loyalties to that apparatus now. He can reach across the aisle, pull the people in that are willing to work together.

It is a defining moment for Trump and the fate of the nation. Trump is no fool, and he won't get fooled by Ryan again.

There are too many liberals in congress.

I agree 100%. Right now, we're at war with those liberals. I think we can all agree that the last thing on earth that we want is to see the leftists win this war.

I think we have to keep sight of what matters most in all of this-keeping the left out of power for as long as possible. IMHO, NOTHING else matters more.

Look at how radicalized they have become. Imagine what our lives will be like if they ever manage to get on top of us again.

So, with that in mind, I'm not terribly upset with the GOP right now. I think this was probably the safest move. It isn't a battle that wins us anything.

Taxes-now there's a battle we should all be eager for.

This is war. It isn't warm and fuzzy. It's cold and painful.

This sickening title tells us nothing new, but it sure looks like something mind blowing.

There is no way to provide “free” health care.

How do you get people to face reality?

You let reality smack them in the face.

We know that there is no utopia for government, but we really want to believe there is a utopia for health care.

There isn’t.

And, typical of all utopian dreams, some jackasses have come in to try and make themselves some big money by preying on people’s feelings.

"Daniel Horowitz summed up the problem in Conservative Review, that “the sum of the GOP plan is to take everything that is bad about Obamacare — taxes, regulations, subsidies, and mandates — and leave the critical structure in place, albeit with some policy tweaks around the edges.”

It's the rough equivalent of why politicians would never do away with witholding re: taxes. If the pain is very visible to the average person, the opposition would be hard ifor not impossible to ignore.
