I don’t think most supporters know what a sanctuary city is and need to be told (over and over).

Sanctuary cities do not protect illegals.
Otherwise-law-abiding illegals are not treated differently because of the sanctuary city designation.
Sanctuaries protect criminals who are also illegals.
(we shouldn’t need to say “criminal” and “illegal, but the people who don’t understand sanctuary cities need it).

Sanctuaries treat illegal criminals better than citizen criminals:

If a citizen is arrested and has a federal warrant, they will let the feds know and hold him/her for the feds.

If an illegal is arrested and has a federal warrant, they will not let the feds know or not hold him/her for the feds.

Hempstead is in Nassau County, which is a sanctuary jurisdiction.
I grew up in West Hempstead (50s/60s) and Hempstead was a minority $hithole back then.
Not surprising to see it hasn't changed.
