The BBC has learned that US officials "verified" a key claim in a report about Kremlin involvement in Donald Trump's election - that a Russian diplomat in Washington was in fact a spy.
So far, no single piece of evidence has been made public proving that the Trump campaign joined with Russia to steal the US presidency - nothing.
But the FBI Director, James Comey, told a hushed committee room in Congress last week that this is precisely what his agents are investigating.
Stop to let that thought reverberate for a moment.
"Investigation is not proof," said the president's spokesman.
Trump's supporters are entitled to ask why - with the FBI's powers to subpoena witnesses and threaten charges of obstructing justice - nothing damning has emerged.
Perhaps there is nothing to find. But some former senior officials say it is because of failings in the inquiry, of which more later.
The roadmap for the investigation, publicly acknowledged now for the first time, comes from Christopher Steele, once of Britain's secret intelligence service MI6.
He wrote a series of reports for political opponents of Donald Trump about Trump and Russia.

How in the flying f could this have occurred? Lol. Other than the Russians hacking all the voting machines this assertion alone is a preposterous notion. Nothing like making pissant spitballs just to leave a stink.
Remember, Obama ordered Merkel’s private phone to be monitored. But he said he was sorry. And she said “okay”.

The reasoning they suggest is
Trump won the election, and
a Russian diplomat is a spy, therefore
the Russians hacked the election so Trump would win.
Makes perfect sense!
But more likely, their reasoning is that Trump is an impediment to their goal for a Globalist Utopia, and Putin is also an impediment. Therefore, by lumping them together to demonize, they kill two birds with one stone. They just need to express it in a way that the sheeple will buy into.
And, at least back in the 1980s, Aeroflot as well.

So! The Russians were able to sway all the Trump voters in all 28 or 2900 counties that went for Trump. In addition, they were able to rev up all the supporters at all of Trump’s appearances around all of the states? WOW!!!
I’ve said it until I am blue in the face, because the democrats and FBI have not been forced to lay out their evidence, said “evidence” will continue to be “gathered” “created” until this POTUS is impeached.
It is frankly ridiculous that our side hasn’t said put up or shut up.

The fact that McCain is not under any sort of investigation reveals a lot about how deep the swamp is in D.C. and there is a lot more than the “Russian dossier” that he should be investigated for.
Don’t know that I have ever seen less information in a newspaper article.
How did the Trump team collude? How would the campaign people know he is a spy when American intelligence apparently did not? Not even a single word of will speculation that. They won’t speculate because they have NO IDEA WHATSOEVER what might have happened.
Anyone who does business with the Russian Embassy is for all practical talking to a spy. This entire contrived “scandal” is a giant nothing-burger.
