Most parts of Australia have ALWAYS been hot and dry. The interior is just a king-sized version of Arizona.
Eucalyptus trees evolved BECAUSE of the eons of hot and dry climate that Australia has been exposed to. Worst thing that could happen to such an environment would be to get TOO MUCH moisture.

So.... “Scientists” put water tanks out in a dessert and they are shocked to see animals drink from the tanks. This is as shocking as my dog drinking from his water bowl. Obviously it is global warming.
Their plan is to dumb them down so they can’t find water on their own. Much like the welfare system works....
What the wonderful folks at National Propaganda, er I mean Geographic, didn’t say, is that this same summer of record breaking heat in New South Wales has been a record breaking COOL summer in Perth, the capital of Western Australia.
So if this is due to what the Left call Climate Change (which always exists) but means man-made global warming, why was Perth so cold?

It’s fine to say it’s really hot, and this forces animals to spend more time drinking water, but it is a lie—or at least a misrepresentation— to blame that on made-made global warming, which really does NOT exist.
BTW, the Australian BOM has only kept records for 130 years. So it’s not the hottest EVER, but rather since the 1890s.
