Fox News host Sean Hannity sided with the Freedom Caucus on Thursday in its feud with President Trump, saying he didn’t think the conservative lawmakers were at fault for last week's failure of the GOP healthcare bill.
“Now, in my opinion, it’s not the Freedom Caucus that's responsible for the GOP failure in this case to repeal and replace ObamaCare,” Hannity, a vocal supporter of Trump, said on his prime-time program.
“Now, this legislation was flawed from the beginning. It was created behind closed doors. Not one single member saw the bill until it was rolled out. And that made it a disaster,” he said.
After House leaders pulled the bill, Trump called members of the Freedom Caucus “friends of mine.”
But he has since attacked members of the group, which he has publicly blamed for the repeal effort's failure.
In a series of tweets, Trump threatened to back primary challenges against members and targeted three top Freedom Caucus leaders by name.
In rare criticism of the president, Hannity said that Trump's anger was “misplaced.”
“Now I don't know who's telling the White House to focus their anger on the Freedom Caucus, but I do think it's misplaced," Hannity said. "Because the Freedom Caucus, I've talked to them, they want to make a deal, and they want the win for the president and the country.”
Many Freedom Caucus members opposed the GOP bill, as did a number of centrist Republican lawmakers.

This bill was written in secret by the healthcare lobby, kept secret from the membership and when revealed was told it was a take it or leave it proposition not at all unlike Pelosie and her have to pass it to find out what is in it. I love most of what Trump has done and is trying to do, but he is very wrong on this one. ObamaCare must be wiped out. Socialized medicine must be prevented and avoided. Just because it has Republicans sponsoring it instead of Democrats does NOT make it a good thing!!! The Freedom Caucus is our only hope to avoid this disaster right now, and hopefully Trump sees that sooner rather than later.

It is NOT ONLY Newt against this bill it is Laura Ingram, Sarah Palin, Lou Dobbs, people who have been SOLIDLY with Trump from DAY ONE!! They are DEAD SET against this bill BECAUSE they actually have Trumps best interests in their hearts! LYIN RYAN is a LYING WEASLE!! He has also LIED to Trump laying the opposition to the bill solely at HFC’s feet!!! LYIN RYAN had MANY MORE NO votes thus he didn’t even take a vote not wanting Trump to know what a LOUSY POS he REALLY IS!! The way he hid this bill from his Caucus until it went public was DISPICABLE airing the dirty laundry for ALL TO SEE!!! My point is, folks have determined exactly what is coming down the pike. We don’t know yet. Take it as it comes and belch when we have some facts.
Right now, I don’t think we have any idea what the final bill will look like.
I’m not meaning to imply we can’t say anything until it’s law. I’m just saying we need to be sure what we’re criticizing.
I don’t think the Ryancare bill is still exactly as it was. I’m hoping it becomes better, but I’m not betting it will.
We just need to wait and see.
I know I worded it so that it appeared I wanted to hold off criticism until after it was voted and signed. I did not mean to imply that.
If it’s another bad bill, or simply remains bad, the criticize away. There’s no way I’m remaining silent while Obamacare lite gets canonized.
Hopefully Trump will get his mind right and support the conservatives instead of the RINOs. The Freedom Caucus is no longer even asking for a full repeal but simply wants to get rid of 2 more Obama provisions. That still leaves a lot of ObamaCare in place unfortunately but perhaps that’s all that can be done.
All of them should get behind locked doors and work it out. Enough of the tweets and nonsense.
I tend to agree with that. I’m not so much against the rapid advancement, as I am with Ryancare vs the Rand Paul plan. If they had resubmitted the Rand Paul plan, I think I’d be fairly happy with it. As described, it was better.
REPEAL it all and go back to what we had before bami came along!!!

President Trump’s biggest problem is Paul Ryan, not the Freedom Caucus.
1)Ryan is bought and paid for by his wife whose estate is worth 6.5 million dollars , she and her family are democrats.

Paul Ryan tried to screw the People on Health Care, and he will keep trying to screw the people on Health Care.He wants massive profits for his backers.The Freedom Caucus stopped Ryan and exposed him to the People and also exposed Ryan’s agenda to President Trump.Ryan does not care one wit for the People.Ryan is a man made by his wife’s fortune, not from his own effort or intelligence, or popular support form the electorate. He bought his way through lobbyists.
President Trump needs to turn that Ryan rig around, or he will become the lamest duck in presidential history.All the president has to do is rely on the People. It wouldn’t take much.
