The White House is expected to release the text of a new deal on Tuesday that would give states the power to opt out of certain Obamacare insurance mandates, in a major attempt to revive Obamacare repeal as early as this week.
Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., chairman of the Freedom Caucus, told reporters after meeting with Vice President Mike Pence and White House officials that he expects the text of the new compromise on Tuesday.
The compromise would allow states to opt out of forcing insurers to cover 10 essential health benefits in plans, including maternity care and hospitalization. The states could also opt out of forcing insurers to comply with a community rating mandate, which today requires them to offer the same rate to an entire geographic area, and bars them from charging sicker people much more.

“Absolutely ZERO omama care or we whip you again!! FREE MERKET ONLY!!”
Keep yelling that :) It ain’t gonna happen. Too many GOP governors are addicted to ObamaCare Medicaid. So chill out and wait for the sausage to be cooked and served on a bun!!
I can’t wait till you realize that all 11 million illegals WILL NOT be deported...you will need help:)
And magic rainbow UNICORNS farting SKITTLES!1
Well send that to the states if they want Obamacare b abuse Obamacare was a being massive subsidies anyway.
No one in Washington gives a flying eff about that Citizen. Now back to work so that you can support those who want free shiite.
You ask can this be that hard. No it cannot be but it is not about being hard or easy.
It is all about control. If the a$$wipes in Washington (and yes I include the Whitehouse) give up the AHCA and just give us OUR freedom back to make our own choices, they lose control of us.
That is what is not hard to understand
Sounds good to me...I live in Florida. Let the coast states go on with Obamacare.
Exactly! And, hopefully, none of Paul Ryan's fingerprints!
“blue states will still get federal subsidies.”
How is that worse than the status quo? With free market insurance in the red states, an “adjustment” to federal subsidies may work wonders; providing we have solid leadership in the Congress and the White House.
We can have a position that isn’t a pile of Mush!! You mast be a paul rino boy?
Why not have a bailout fund funded by the states that participate?
I vote for my newly adopted home state of Tennessee.
RIGHT on, RIGHT on, RIGHT on.
Lyin’ Ryan need not open his mouth. Duct tape - that’s the ticket.
It’s good to see the President has this one under control. Ryan failed, BIGLY! Time to wave goodbye and Cantorize him.
Gawd I wish they’d stop f@@@ing around and just repeal zero- care already!! Wtf’s wrong with those basturds anyway! ???????
What adjustment? I didn’t see any in the bill.
So blue states get to keep sucking up tax dollars while red states pay them
It’ll only work if the states have to pay the subsidies
Sounds like the red states will be able to opt out of the failing Obamacare and the blue states can elect to choke on it and go down with the ship. After a year or two the blue states will find all the insurers have fled the plan in their state. Sucks for them but works for me.
I agree. Just send a bill to Congress tomorrow that says.....Obamacare repealed as of Dec. 1 ..or something like that.
But then it isn’t dragged out and the politicos lose months of free TV FaceTime and dozens of meetings with lobbyists and all their money.
Free Market Only. Repeal or NOTHING!
Who won the effing election? Republicanz are shooting themselves in the foot yet again!
FOOLS!
The last mess was a Paul Ryan sellout to insurance companies and others who have him bought and paid for. This bill is from Trump and Rand Paul, with AG Sessions getting in a very fine groove. My point: if it puts Trump and his team in charge, they can make responsible changes that preserve the free marketplace for those who want it.
It says nothing about the individual mandate.
I saw a merket when I was hunting moose in Canada and it was definitely free.
