Former Vice President Joe Biden made the crucial first step in a potential run for president in 2020, according to a Tuesday report from Politico.
Biden is set to attend the New Hampshire Democrat Party’s fundraising dinner, an event he declined to attend in 2015 because he didn’t want to fuel rumors of a planned run in the 2016 presidential election, according to the report. The fundraiser is important due to the state’s “first in the nation” primary status, and the annual benefit was long seen by party officials as a way to earn early support in presidential races.

I strongly suspect that DNC Chair Tom Perez and his minions will disagree with Joe. There are probably a few other candidates they have in mind. Joe is a known quantity, for better or worse. Many times a totally new candidate has the factor of the unknown working in his favor. This factor worked for both Obama and Trump although for different reasons.
Biden actually might have won. Not in a landslide but still a win. He appeals way more to blue collar white guys than Hillary. Hillary says their deplorable and she's going to destroy their jobs. Biden actually mingles with them, jokes around, drinks a beer with them. Without them, Trump doesn't take PA, OH, or MI and he doesn't win.Even if Biden just took half of them back, Trump probably loses.
However Biden had his window and he deferred to Hillary, he won't get another one.
I hope he does. He can run on Obama’s record of failure, which was his own.
He was the perfect Vice President for Obama - no substance, just that childish grin and ignorant faux pas when he stopped grinning and started speaking.

Biden is precisely what the power-hungry, leftist legislators want. Someone who will sign any EO they dream up.

That's an interesting question I hadn't thought of. However since you ask, I think the DNC didn't want Bernie under any circumstances so they would have put their thumb on the scale for Biden just like they did for Hillary.
