Ann Coulter: Lassie, Come Home
Breitbart ^ | 4.12.17 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 04/13/2017 2:20:09 AM PDT by pissant

War is like crack for presidents. It confers instant gravitas, catapulting them to respectability, bypassing all station stops. They get to make macho pronouncements on a topic where every utterance is seen as august. On the other hand, Trump’s Syrian misadventure is immoral, violates every promise he ran on, and could sink his presidency.

Left to his own devices, uncontaminated by Washington group-think, Trump gets it right.

Back in 2013, when President Obama was being egged on to attack Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in response to an alleged chemical weapons attack far more sweeping than this latest one, Trump tweeted:

— Aug. 29, 2013:

“What will we get for bombing Syria besides more debt and a possible long term conflict? Obama needs Congressional approval.”

— Aug. 31, 2013:

“Be prepared, there is a small chance that our horrendous leadership could unknowingly lead us into World War III.”

I think you might look a little deeper as to “what is” yourself:

I have no problem bombing a military airport, it’s when we go and clean up the streets using our brave men and women and rebuild the country we just bombed. One and done.

Ann’s problem is right there in the headline. Trump is no one’s obedient dog, not even Ann Coulter’s.

Ann is right; Syria is not our problem and Ivanka needs to be sidelined.

I am for Trump too, but Trump campaigned on America first and America not being the world’s policeman. Syria does not represent any American interests.

It doesn't seem to have dawned on Ann that maybe the Donald
just might have had another motive in mind for bombing Syria ...

What is it with you Trump bashers posting to yourselves, lol?! I’ve noticed this for the last two weeks. I guess when nobody will talk to you, you have to talk to yourself.

I find amazing that some regard a punitive strike in response to a chem weapons attack to be tantamount to world war. The real-world fact is we have troops and allies in that region. Eliminating the WMD threat to them is a top priority, regardless who presents that threat.

Trump made a promise to keep us out of unnecessary wars. A one-off response to a sarin gas attack is not an abrogation of that promise.

Ann needs to take a deep breath and cool her jets.

She’s wrong on so many levels in her latest rant......

In her continuous vain attempt to be relavant by writing hit pieces, jumping up and down and saying “look at me, look at me”, she continuous her downward slide......

Maybe she should go back to supporting Mitt, Christie or dating Bill Mahr.....

Hitting Assad was not just a very limited pinpoint strike against a despot, but more importantly set the international stage for overall US with little blowback or need for further international involvement.....

It was a brilliant move.....

“If the US had proof, they would take it to the UN.”

Nope. That’s what both Bushes, Clinton & Odumbo would have done. President Trump is not going to justify his actions to the useless UN except when he see’s a strategic reason to do so that’s in the best interests of the country.

You don’t get to decide these things & neither do I. I trust President Trump & you do not. I wish you & the rest of your ilk would take a vacation to someplace nice & relaxing cuz’ you got a stick up your rear & your smelling up the place.

Why do anti-trump people keep posting this kind of crap?

Your “divide & conquer” campaign has failed. Again. Don’t go away bitter. Just go away.

Trump needs to drain the swamp, starting with Kusher and Cohen, because they represent the very worst of the neo-con artist swamp dwellers.

Does it even matter that Assad didn’t gas those people?

since when do we have Government by Dead Baby Pictures?

this doesn’t help build the wall.

I love Trump but Anne is right, he is vulnerable to flattery and there’s danger of him turning into a globalist.

I never expected this.

If Israel wants Assad gone then let them do it, I will volunteer as the entire trumpet section.

What a drama queen. It’s over Ann. The bombing that is. It was a week ago and we are not invading Syria.

"Syria does not represent any American interests."

I disagree. ISIS is in Iraq and Syria. ISIS's headquarters is in Raqqa which is in Syria. One of ISIS's many names is ISIL with the L standing for the Levant. Syria is part of the ancient term for the area of Levant. The civil war combined with Obama's idiot complicities in overthrowing Qadaffi in Libya is causing the refugee crisis currently going on in Europe. I have heard many times that this is the most refugees in the world since WWII, I believe it.

Last but not least, this civil war is creating and inspiring Jihadi crazies all over the world including here in America. Any lawless state like Syria, Somalia and to a lesser extent now Afghanistan is where the Al Qada's of the world will find a home to plot their terrorism against the United States. I don't think Assad can ever stop that civil war. I'm hoping that Russia comes to this conclusion. There are a lot of these factions that will never put their arms down as long as he's in power. We don't have to go in there with boots on the ground. We have to work with Russia to have Assad step down, let Russia replace him with their hand picked successor strong man that would be agreeable to all the factions. Then we can (with our allies in the region) work on wiping out the rest of ISIS in Syria and Al Nusra.

It would be nice if the next strong man does not support Hamas, but that might be too much to ask for....

What more do you want

I was first upset when President Trump blamed the Freedom Caucus for not supporting RyanCare. That was just Ryan's cynical attempt to save ObamaCare while appearing not to do so. THANK GOD they stuck to their principles, instead of settling for a "win". If it's true that Ivanka met with Planned Parenthood (it hasn't been denied), it was time to say "you're fired". I don't think Jared and Ivanka should be part of the administration; they're proving to be globalist-liberal agenda advocates.

And now this? Syria is a nation. The US shouldn't be there, except in the mission to destroy ISIS. It would've been better for the US to get there and investigate, to be far more cynical about who used chemical weapons and why. ISIS isn't going to be defeated unless the US and Russia cooperate.

Summary...I want what Trump promised. To sit down and "play Chess" with Putin. Not to sit down and make decisions because Ivanka was sad.
