All I know is, the minute the USA leaves, the Taliban are back in power.
My position is that Afghanistan should have become a glass-covered parking lot all the way from it’s mountains and valleys right down to its plains. Every frigging inch of it.
It will never be brought out of whatever century it is in and it can never be rehabilitated if the indigenous people there are allowed to propagate themselves.
The Russians wasted precious lives there, the Americans wasted even more lives there in a futile attempt to build a nation where no real foundation could ever hope to be laid. It is the religion coupled with abject unwillingness to learn anything worthwhile, plain and simple.
You discount the possibility that ISIS could rise to the top.

The options are:
1) Invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity.
2) Make a sufficiently forceful punitive expedition against the enemy axis Riyadh-Islamabad that Islam is content to remain within its existing borders.
3) Surrender and make the United States an officially Islamic nation.
By refusing to do 1) or 2), 3) will eventually be inevitable.
