That’s okay. I knew when I read the title that it was going to be fake news. Toasting something like that has never been Israel’s style.
NEVER.
I think that the “blood libel” stuff is wrong - but also, her post was rather foolish. To link Israel’s supposed duty to confront the Syrian govt, to them lifting their glasses, almost invites misunderstanding.
Israel continues to provide free advanced medical care and rehabilitation therapy for injured Syrians. -——

The most utterly ridiculous thing, at the LAST holiday one could ever accuse of not being sympathetic to one’s enemy.
My favorite part of the Passover Seder is when we drop drops of wine from our cups to our plate, one for each plague, as we recite them. This is our symbolic sadness at the losses our enemies suffered when Gd scared them enough to let the Israelites go free. How many thousands of years, and we have it ritually inside our Passover service to still shed tears and remorse for our then enemies every single year among the thousands since it happened.
It is sheer ignorance to suggest Jews toast to enemies’ losses. On Passover of all holidays.
Oh Please. Only a committed (and not very bright) anti-Semite would be fooled by such nonsense.
But hanging a bag of pig blood on a bus will create a different liable for muslims intend on spilling the blood of Jewish children and civilians.... While libale is the lie.
