Same here. It’s surreal and concrete, at the same time....if that makes any sense, at all.
Surreal because of the YUGE bullet we dodged, with ILLary (God’s hand, IMO) and concrete because if ANYONE in recent American history deserves to be our Prez, it is the American-loving, successful businessman DJT!!
I remember reading The Art of the Deal when I first started working in sales. As a n00bie, I learned so much from that book. One thing was to never assume the deal is dead or gone...there’s always a chance you can find a way to make it work. Perseverance mixed with strategy. If it’s meant to happen....keep at it....and, it just might work out....and EVERYONE involved comes out a winner :)

My aunts in Italy cooked in teeny kitchens, hidden away behind louvered doors, much like some laundries here are. Magnificent meals for 8-10; have no clue how they did it.

I have Robert Caro’s extensive biography of LBJ, worth reading to gain insight into a very complex personality. He had a huge ego, a thirst for power which he gained often unethically. By the way, Caro’s history of Hill Country is wonderfully written (first volume), he created real images through the word. Excellent writer.

turmeric has done wonders for my knees. last summer I was deciding between getting on the ground to weed - because getting back up hurt - or bending over, which is not a comfortable position for long. with the turmeric, which I heard about here, I had no problems kneeling, getting up, etc.
One just never knows when something catastrophic will personally hit you, just need to live and appreciate each day.

I am so sorry you are in so much pain. Your description brings back some very vivid memories of my own journey with knee pain.
Have you seen an orthopedist? The sudden increase in pain could indicate a tear in the cartilage or other injury that could be diagnosed via MRI and effectively treated.
“Years of damage” sounds like you may already have some degree of osteoarthritis, which is extremely painful especially when the cartilage is wearing away and bone is rubbing on bone. An MRI will show exactly how much damage exists in the joint. Injections are only a stop-gap measure; osteoarthritic damage will continue to worsen over time.
For me, when it got to the point where I could no longer function normally - couldn’t drive or walk without crutches for nearly a year - I had the knee replacement surgery that has freed me from years of chronic knee pain. It was definitely the right decision for me, and I am so thankful I did it.
Taking narcotics may help you tolerate the pain but it’s a slippery slope. They can’t “fix” the problem and they could lead to dependency without you even realizing it.
In the short term, ice and elevation may help with the discomfort, but I would really encourage you to see a specialist and find out just what you are dealing with so you can explore your options.
