So, in 25 years former President’s Donald, Eric and Ivanka Trump could gang up on the new President Barron Trump?

Perhaps Republican voters from other states should be allowed to decide whether voters in Oregon are too incompetent to vote after they elect idiots like Demonicrat Earl Blumenauer.

How many idiots in Congress, like Rep. Earl Blumenauer, don't understand our Constitution?

Earl and all those like him should be impeached and tossed. They've taken an oath to uphold the Constitution which obviously they either don't understand or choose to ignore.

Drain the swamp!!

Does this moronic idiot know anything about how politics work? Oregon, you are almost as crazy as California and Washington...we should sell it back to Russia, since they want authoritarians to rule them.

It’s still a stunt.

The 25th Amendment is there to remedy physical or mental incapacitation.

This idiot wants to set up a purely political removal process.

HUGE difference.

This moron wants to be able to remove any president by triggering the “Past President’s Clause”, rendering elections worthless.

If you want reform, let’s have every congress critter take an exam on the constitution before they are permitted to take the oath of office.

For nearly fifty years this doofus has been feeding at the public trough. He is like most of Oregon, sad and pathetic:
February 21, 2017 | Press Release
Washington, DC — Today, Congressman Earl Blumenauer (OR-03) released the following statement on threats to Jewish communities across the country:
“Sadly, it’s no surprise that acts of hate are on the rise with this Administration continuing to promote divisiveness and bigotry. Religious freedom isn’t up for debate in our America. Bomb threats and vandalism targeting Jewish community members are disturbing and hateful. I’m glad Trump decried these acts, but he needs to take responsibility for embracing the alt-right that feeds this intolerance and spews hate.”

The word "stunt" wasn't mine, but perhaps I shouldn't have used it.

My point was that this bill still had the imprimatur of the 25th amendment behind it, so it wasn't some far-out whacky idea.

If there were a "whacky" component to it, it would be using prior Presidents as the basis for this other "25th-amendment group." I think a more reasonable group would be an assembly of all 50 governors, or a majority (or super?) vote from all 50 state legislatures. At least this way, the "other such group" would still be accountable to the people.

“This idiot not only doesn’t understand the Constitution, nor the entire concept of separation of powers.”

Congress can legally remove a president in a day if it wishes. The House impeaches in the morning. The Senate holds a trial and convict in the afternoon.

If the representative from Oregon perceives a problem with the mental health of the current president, he should read Article 1, Section 2 of the Constitution and initiate the process.

Unfortunately liberals though don’t believe in allowing a legislature elected by the people doing its job. They want “experts” - judges, bureaucrats, academics, pundits, and yes ex presidents, to make political decisions.

One thing for certain, it’s not to show he has full control in the intelligence department.

So d’rats have 2 living Presidents - 1 crook in the country; 1 exiled on a Tahitian island/millionaire’s yacht, searching for a home.

And at the moment UniParty has 2 living in the country (both having the name Bush)

Is the exiled pResident allowed to vote? How about living Vice Presidents?

Asinine clown tripping over his big red shoes on two left feet.

“empower former presidents and vice presidents of both parties, in coordination with the sitting vice president, to determine if a president is fit for office”

Totally unoriginal. Earl is just copying how they did it in the old Soviet Union.
