I argued last week that anecdotal stories about disillusioned Trump supporters were overdone. The fact is that, on a broad scale, Trump supporters say they aren't disappointed. In fact, a poll showed they were more pleased than disappointed, by about 5 to 1:
...The Pew Research Center released a poll showing very little buyer's remorse among Trump voters. The poll showed just 7 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents say Trump has performed worse than they expected him to. Fully 38 percent five times as many say he has performed better.
A new Washington Post-ABC News poll confirms this in spades. And, in fact, it shows more buyer's remorse for Trump's opponent in the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton. And were the 2016 election held again today, it shows Trump would avenge his popular-vote loss.
While just 4 percent of Trump's supporters say they would back someone else if there was a redo of the election, fully 15 percent of Clinton supporters say they would ditch her. Trump leads in a re-do of the 2016 election 43 percent to 40 percent after losing the popular vote 46-44.
That 15 percent is split between those who say they would vote for Trump (2 percent), Gary Johnson (4 percent), Jill Stein (2 percent), and either other candidates or not vote (7 percent).
What does WaPo say about the alternative now in terms of Trump’s agenda? Do they stress that Congress is the problem now that America might have a problem with? Possibly that we need a change out or realignment of that in 2018? Maybe with ‘conservative Democrats’ the President could work with?
I fervently believe that Trump is what we need, bar none. I am increasingly pessimistic about those bastards in Congress of either persuasion. Isolating and diminishing Trump to give him a completely impotent Congress is the same thing as defeating him in a large way.
What I do know is that one cannot trust a damn thing the Washington Post says, does or prints - no matter how ‘fair’ it seems on the surface. They lie, they always will lie, and you can never, never trust them.
Internal ‘RAT war for control of the Socilaist Party. PIAPS wants to run (stumble around?) in 2020, but such as the DNC and the Bezos Post are saying, “No.”
Bernie, and/or Lieawatha will run in 2020, both will lose in grand fashion.
“Surprisingly non-fake news analysis.”
I was thinking just the same...no way to spin these numbers.
So why publish it? Normally the media would simply spike a story like this. Something is bothering them about the Democrat strategy, and perhaps it has to do with their hell-bent opposition to Trump.
So far, the result of their opposition to Trump has been to watch Gorsuch make it to the Supreme Court, and because of the Democrats, have the field cleared for future nominees - perhaps even one or two before the mid-terms.
Now we come to crunch time, where the Democrats are determined to shut down the government to block funding of the border wall. Considering that the cost of the wall is next to nothing by federal spending standards, the Dems really, really, are putting themselves at a big risk here.
If the Left wants any of the 96% of Trump supporters back, they sure as hell won’t get them by trying to block the wall...and perhaps that is why this poll is getting such big circulation. The Dems are now on a SUICIDE PATH, consisting of nothing but pure, personal, anger at Trump...and the media just gave them a shot across the bow - to let them know where it’s leading.
Yes, I believe it will be Princess Spreading Bull who will go on the warpath in 2020.
The rats are going to run one of the Castro brothers from San Antonio in 2020. They will play on the Latino immigrant angle and try to take Texas.
Yes, agree, and likely pair up with Fauxcahontas. Either Warren/Castro or Castro/Warren. Solidify their base with Latins and women.
I cant say I have buyers remorse because I voted for Trump and the Republicans with very low expectations...and they have met those low expectations.
Ah, the proverbial, "ten foot poll"?
"Journalists should denounce government by public opinion polls."

Elections are just to find out if the polls were right...
I think its gonna be Lieawatha too, and she will lose worse than PIAPS
So if you exclude the 7% who probably “don’t vote” in that poll, then those numbers translate to Trump 46%, Clinton 43%. That sounds believable to me.
“And were the 2016 election held again today, it shows Trump would avenge his popular-vote loss”
It must have killed em to print that. Even though we know it was the hopeless fools in CA and the illegals that gave her the popular in the first place.
The RATS are no longer in power to pump money and influence to the MenSeekingMen, and media realizes they’ll bankrupt continuing on with the propaganda without RAT support.
By taking down FNC ‘luminaries’, they’re giving us the real deals like Tucker Carlson, Jesse Watters, etc.

The best part is that either Warren or Bernie will be too old to run again after 2020, so they HAVE to run!
Trump gets a easy win.
I understand that, certainly. Trump isn’t the one to think that featherbedding is the last resort of an unworthy soul, frankly. I do not however hold any misconceptions about these ‘Republicans’ who’ve always seemed very comfortable with second-tier power as long as they got their ‘share’ of the pie.
The plain language for me is that these SOBs in Congress lie - all day and all night long, every day. They are there for their own individual power and that which can be given to those close heirs of whom they’re too shortsighted to care beyond that. They are evil.
I don’t think any of this fits my President - he is doing his damned level best and all he’s getting is carping and moaning from both sides. Bastards.
Many of those "overdone" stories were in that same Washington Post, of course. It was obvious they were trying to start that narrative.
