Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer said on Sunday he believes lawmakers could reach a short-term U.S. budget deal by Friday if President Donald Trump did not meddle in their talks with "poison pill" demands like funding for a border wall.

We need to stand firm for two things: 1) Fund the wall and develop a plan to extract the cost from Mexico. 2) A balance budget that fully funds the military and cuts everything else until there is no red ink in the budget.

Because a good portion of the Republican party establishment including Ryan, never wanted a wall and still don’t. They hate that they can’t blame the Democrats. That’s one reason they wanted Hillary to win.
