Astros fans might remember Aubrey Huff as part of a 2006 trade with Tampa Bay that cost the team infielder Ben Zobrist, who has won back-to-back World Series rings with Kansas City and the Chicago Cubs. San Francisco fans remember Huff for his run as "Huff Daddy," whose red "rally thong" was a source of entertainment and inspiration for the Giants en route to the 2010 World Series title, the first of two championship teams for which he played. These days, Huff, 40, also hopes to be remembered as a cautionary tale for the abuse of Adderall, the stimulant used to treat attention deficit disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and narcolepsy, and that also can be a performance-enhancing drug that is, unfortunately, a perfect fit for baseball's requirements. "It helps you perform, no doubt," Huff said in a recent interview. "But what it does to you off the field is tragic."

Amphetamine.
It was one of the worst things that ever happened to me. It turned me into a god. Let me do things I never thought possible.
It is very easy to understand why many get hooked on this stuff and why they struggle to get off of it.
Adderall is a life wrecker. It should be off the market.
It’s amphetamine. Benzedrine, bennies, uppers, etc...
Add a methyl group to the amine and it’s meth.
It causes paranoia and psychosis.
A great preponderance of baseball heros of the the 1950’s and 60’s would pop ‘Greenies’ like M&Ms. all club houses would put a bowl of these amphetamines for players to super charge before the start of a game.
As far as I’m concerned all baseball players need to sign a release that if they happen to taken performance enhancement drugs it’s all on them and the team’s and MLB are not liable. After that I would tell the players to ‘knock yourselves out’. They want to trade life span for short term sport excellence and big bucks? God bless them.
Adderall in the wrong person can make you rage and uncontrollably angry. My son, yrs ago took it for a week as we accepted add diagnosis...then we got him on some other add med...my gut feel hated the whole thing...I feel like I sold out my principles by agreeing to have him take it...wow was that Adderall week scary... on e on the new meds, we prayed for healing and a few yrs later like 7th grade, he said he didn’t want to take any adhd meds anymore...we skipped weekends and then one day, then another, then no more meds...he graduates in a few weeks and has been able to focus like a laser on school since then. Chem Engineering at UC Cincinnati with several academic scholarships to boot and a really high SAT, especially rally math... So God indeed healed him, and I’d also add these add drugs are. Cocaine derivatives and that industry is hellbound. I still to this day believe add to be a farce for teachers who think boys should sit still and not be allowed to move around while being taught. $big pharma and congress is medicating our boys and turning them into non social doped up video game junkies.
Speed kills.
My brother became addicted and it destroyed his life. The husband of one of my lawyer colleagues became addicted and committed suicide. It is a dangerous drug and should be pulled and banned. If any of my clients ever mention it, I tell them never, never put your child on it.
Abuse of what?
Oh, look, a squirrel.
I think the headline has it right...”abuse” of Adderall. It’s a highly controlled Schedule C drug and it’s difficult to abuse it while under a doctor’s care, unless you resort to nefarious ways in order to obtain it.
This drug can prevent you from joining the US military. At a minimum there is a two year hold after your prescription ends.

Disagree.
It puts players that want to do things the right way at a disadvantage. They are shorted their dreams because of the cheaters.

My ex was a 3rd grade teacher. 25 years ago she was telling so many of the boy’s parents that they needed Ritalin. As with most things, my ex was clueless. What she really wanted to accomplish was not having a kid cut up too much in class because she didn’t want to deal with it.
Adderall is the legal drug of choice for millennials and their parents insurance pays for it until they hit age 26.
Why didn’t you post my entire quote.
The stars of baseball from the early fifties onward were taking performance enhancing drugs. Amphetamine use was rife during the era of Mantle, Mays and Williams.
Maybe the asterisks need to be put next to the stats of those guys.
