Why Trump Supporters are Still Solid
The American Thinker ^ | 04/24/17 | Karin McQuillan

Trump voters can see that the president has had both successes and failures in the first months in office. That’s normal. The successes have been ignored by the Democrat press, but we inform ourselves by going to our own, more truthful, news sources. There is much to celebrate. When we focus on our side’s accomplishments, this is a happy time for our country.

We know full well President Trump is not perfect, nor is his team, and his first 100 days have brought disappointments, too. Support for Trump is not like the creepy hero-worship that Democrats gave Obama. Conservatives have God to worship. We do not confuse politicians with the Messiah. We do not need to think our president is the most brilliant man in every room, or that all his failures are the fault of others.

The reason we are so happy is that the big picture is astoundingly positive. Perhaps this is why the Democrats have to scream so very loudly and continuously, in their effort to drown it out. There are so many things to celebrate, in a few short months, it is hard to remember them all. Jobless claims are at a seventeen-year low. Illegal border crossings are at a 20-year low. The stock market had the longest winning streak since 1987. Our trade deficit is down and exports are up. Companies are hiring. We are beginning a sane energy policy. Job-crushing government regulations and waste are being rolled back. Four thousand illegal Somalis have been deported, and embassies told to slow down and do their job in vetting. The speed of change to rational, pro-America policies is dazzling.

As a conservative I knew going in that there would be issues where I wouldn't be thrilled with what President Trump may want to do. I was ok with that then and I'm ok with now.

Having an America first, patriot in the White House is far more important to me than any differences that may come up. The confirmation of Justice Gorsuch was vindication enough for my support.

The internet and conservative radio will have to publicize this positive record of Pres. Trump’s first 100 days, because that is the only way that the general public will hear about his accomplishments. The Democrat media will never say a positive word about him.

Sometimes the “hero worship” on this forum is a bit much but overall opinions are pretty accurate.

I give Trump a solid B for his first hundred days.....would have been an A minus his pushing of Obamacare lite.

Why Trump supporters are still sold?

What a dumb question, but considering lefties are asking one another, it’s dumb because lefties are dumb.

Trump has just gotten started, and has had remarkable success in his first few days. There’s more to come.

I’m not going to negatively judge this guy until he’s been in office for at least a year, maybe two. And his screw-ups (if any at all), would have to be weighed against his successes.

I’m just not worried.

We have to accept some compromises as Trump has to work with a wimpy Ryan and Congress.

I myself give him an A+, and you can count me as being Solid as a rock.

By the way, we’re also incredibly greedy. Just for nominating and getting Gorsuch confirmed, he deserves an A. We would have had Ruth Ginsberg II if it were Hillary.

“Here worship”? I’d counter that I’d like to see a little less “self worship” and some more realism and practicality here at FR,.

Show me one President in the last near 40 years that has slowed the influx of illegals to this country. Name one that has even remotely caused an INCREASE in false-refugees to Canada. These are happening daily.

Our immigration laws are back to being enforced. Even with this ball-less, no backbone RINO congress, he is doing worlds above what any of them have done for a long time.

Full time bravos for him and I call shenanigans on that pitiful grade “b.” Fie!

If I were a single issue voter as you appear to be I suppose he would get an A.

I, however, am not and pushing the horrible health plan proposed by Congress as he did was a mistake.

Many of his alleged “failures” are due to a weak Congress. All the president can do is “propose” and then it is up too the Congress to “dispose”. Problem is the Congress has not backed this presidents agenda as I and many others believe it should.

Because Trump is acting in America’s best interest and his domestic agenda is still on track, despite artificial deadlines.

No, there ARE other issues which I don’t believe he has earned an A grade but his cheerleading of a bad bill tops the list.

On his own Trump gets an A-, only keeping DACA bothers me.

He can’t help that McTurdle and Ryano were there when Trump was sworn in, or that both are against the wall and lots of other Trump original programs. They failed on repeal and replace not Trump, the congress either passes laws or they don’t.

I can’t see how its his fault they went on vacation instead of funding the Govt. and passing healthcare.

Congress Do Your Job, Potus is working 16 hour days doing his job. Consumer confidence up, manufacture confidence up, stock market up, illegals crossing down 70%, Gorsuch is a Judge, just a few accomplishments of this Potus.

Bottom line: Because we have no alternative.

Either Trump succeeds, or the country descends rapidly into a pit of Globalist Collectivism, debt and cultural decay. There is simply no one else on the horizon who seems capable or willing to take on the establishment juggernaut.

My issue was with him cheerleading for a obviously bad bill not the fact that Congress produced a bad one.

Need to repeat this for all the concern trolls who don’t seem to have a clue about what’s going on.

[I, however, am not and pushing the horrible health plan proposed by Congress as he did was a mistake.]

That sounds like a comment from a single issue voter.
