Pelosi, Schumer urge Trump to butt out of budget negotiations

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., delivered a message to President Trump on Monday morning about Congress' sensitive negotiations over a spending bill that must pass by Friday.

That message: Butt out.

"It's my view that if the president stepped out of it, we could get a budget done by Friday," Schumer said on a conference call with reporters.

"Totally agree," Pelosi said. "We were on the path to get it done until he did intervene."

Schumer called the wall a "monkey wrench" the president threw into the process, bungling an agreement between the parties.

Tape both the mouths of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, shut with a whole roll of 3 1/2” wide Gorilla Tape, Then budget deal would be finished in 48 hours.

Sounds like these two don’t even think Congress should have a voice in the budget. They want another continuing resolution.

Should Ryan and McConnell be dictating the terms?

Almost sounds like, “we have to sign it to know what’s in it”. The liberal bastards will do everything they can to stack the deck in their favor so it’s well past time that SOMEONE, particularly the President, looks into the budget planning process.

Number 1

Pelosi and Schumer know they can roll Republican Congressional leaders if there isn't a strong presence on the Republican side to bolster their fortitude. That's why they want Trump to keep away.

Number 2

It's funny (sad, really) how that with Obama the Congress was a rubber stamp, but now Congress wants Trump to be their rubber stamp.

Odd, why are they suddenly interested in having a budget now? They didn’t pass one in 8 years!

Hey chief clown Chuckie and Nancy, The position of President is called the bully pulpit for a reason!

Elections have consequences.

It is unbelievable people actually elect total lunatics to be their congressmen. Too many of the Democrat congress people and several Rinos truly need to be locked up before they hurt themselves

Exactly! A slush fund like that for Obama, but ZERO for the Wall and our National Security! There needs to be a lot more swamp draining.

And how many years in a row did a demonRat run congress NEVER present a budget, instead only running the government using illegal, unconstitutional "continuing resolutions?"

DemonRats are biologically incapable of recognizing irony.

The last constitutional budget was in 1997 where we had a Newt run Congress. Slick was president but he did sign it!
Prior to that the last constitutional budget was roughly in the mid-1970s.

It’s what you get when the RINO Ryan keeps pulling a McCain and reaching out to make sure the Dims are all comfy and cozy. Get rid of Ryan and 90% of the crap the concern trolls keep getting wadded panties over would disappear.
