RUSH: I’m not happy to have to pass this on. I’m very, very troubled to have to pass this on. And I want to say at the outset that I hope my interpretation is wrong, and I hope this is not the case. But it looks like, from here, right here, right now, it looks like President Trump is caving on his demand for a measly $1 billion in the budget for his wall on the border with Mexico.
The Democrats are threatening a government shutdown. It’s the same old same old, and I was hoping that Trump would throw this shutdown thing right back in their face and have everybody realize they’re the ones engineering these shutdowns that nobody would notice anyway unless a big hullabaloo was made about it. The Democrats seem to have successfully used this stupid, silly threat of a government shutdown to get their way. What Trump is saying is if we need to get this done, then I’ll delay the spending on the wall until September. And it’s just a measly billion dollars.
But the problem here, folks, is one of politics. If this happens, if Trump does — and I use the word “cave” guardedly. Trump, I’m sure, does not ever think he caves on anything. But outward appearances are what they are. And the bottom line is that if he is willing to withdraw a demand of his for a measly billion dollars for the wall because the Democrats are threatening a shutdown then the Democrats will have just learned that this threat works on Trump, too, not just all the other Republicans.

During the campaign I posted on here that I had serious doubts about the wall ever being built...not because of his intentions...but because of who we have in DC: The Uni-party...and this not being a dictatorship...he needs the uni-parties support...and I doubt very seriously he will ever get it. That is not his fault...except that he showed extreme naivete of the depth and inner-workings of the swamp.

The majority of HOR Republicans are total fakes. They said the Deplorable things they had to for the campaign, never expecting to be in a situation where there's no excuse for them not happening. If President Trump "delays construction" the dems will claim it as a victory. And then those Republicans who actually despise us will not contradict them. Instead, they'll hide behind their skirts and those of their corporate sponsors.

Since inauguration, Trump has cracked down on illegal immigration (good), jawboned corporate execs to create or keep jobs in America (good), and nominated Gorsuch to the Supreme Court (maybe good, but too soon to tell).
Beyond that, Trump's political philosophy is exactly like every other center-left Republican who ran for president in 2016.

Trump is about to release details of his tax reform and also details of his changed healthcare reform. If he gets caught up in a debate over a few Billion dollars for the wall at the same time he will step all over his message.
Do you think the stock market is up the last two days because of the wall? Or Taxes?
Its the timing of the message, my take is the planning on the wall will now be spread a little and the appropriations used will be given different sounding names, like, funding a border inspection system. Remember a few billion here and there will not show up in the budget and there will be a time when he does not need to worry about stepping on a more important message.
It's the hand-wringers such as yourself that seem to rely on mantras—mantras which are not based in objective reality.
President Trump's first 100 days have been veritably filled with winning.
So you just ignore all the winning, and keep singing your one-note Trump-bashing refrains, while the grownups continue working tirelessly to make America great again...
Because the Republican party cannot muster a majority of their members in either House to overcome Democrat opposition to building the wall. I believe President Trump has honorable intentions to build the wall, but he has met the globalist swamp, and the swamp won. Mr. Trump does not have absolute power as he did when running his business.
What is going on here at FR reminds me of 2004-2005 with Bush. There were some of us who were beginning to call him and Rove out...and we got flamed EVERY TIME. Those who were here then KNOW THIS IS TRUE. Many here were spouting the whole "concern troll"..."nagging naboobs of negativity" stuff then...THE SAME STUFF everytime someone who point something out about Bush. It got mean.
Funny how the same people who were defending Bush and flaming his opposition here on FR now can't say one good word about him or Rove...but yet they are offering the same defense they did back then.
No one is disputing the Trump Administrations accomplishments thus far. It is a matter of fact not subject to debate.
His job is very very tough. He’s the best “within the system” shot we’ve got to best the beast. NO argument there.
At the same time, we keep our eyes OPEN to the scorched earth power-grip of the global elites, and watch the “chess game” unfold.
How each of us interprets the “moves” is reflective of our brain power and experience.

You might consider reading Trumps book... the art of the Deal to understand the man...clearly you do not.
