I missed Prager today but I see I agree with him. To a point. I always wish I could ask Dennis, about the all-important women looking great for their man, which is a very high priority for him, if a man is ok getting a new younger wife every so often to keep up the young hottie in the bed thing. Like he did. And I adore his wife very much. She is a great person. But he did marry thrice.
Women should consider their man, and they should attempt to stay nice looking for him etc. Women can change in mild ways for their man. Do they chatter too much? Have habits that bug him? Both sexes can alter some things for their mates. Be considerate.
But the author has a huge point that we can’t forget. There are a lot of people with borderline personality disorder out there, often women, who Merge with their new man so much they lose any self. So if that is you, think about it and try to seek information about how people cope with borderline on their own. It’s the one personality issue (comes from childhood) that THERAPY DOESNT HELP. Well, sociopathy is only minimally helped by therapy but that is another story. The infrastructure of therapy MAKES BORDERLINE WORSE in some cases. Just thought I’d mention that.
Also, too young girls are ALL “borderline” because they don’t know who to be, yet. Which is why no one but another 15 year old should have a relationship with a 15 year old girl. It’s ok for a young teen to surround herself for a few months with her guy’s favorite music, sports, hobbies. Wearing his hoodie to school, etc. It’s normal at that age. For both of them.

A man who does # 2 through 5 is labeled an insensitive jerk who runs roughshod over his wife. Once children are involved if your passion is, for example, base jumping off tops of buildings, you will probably be asked to dial that back a notch, no matter how supportive and loving your wife is. You might be asked to not work weekends. Maybe golfing every weekend makes it hard for her to manage the kids on her own and she asks you to go earlier in the day or maybe not every weekend. Whatever. If people want to do whatever we want without any pushback ever, don't get married. If you do choose marriage, spouse gets a vote or at least gets to bend your ear over it. And frankly that cuts both way no matter what the shrew who wrote the original article thinks.
