Yes...exactly
Bingo!!
14 verses call homosexuality an abomination?
“Like a scene out of Sodom....” Excellent and truthful comparison.
The Biblical words usually translated as “abomination” do not always convey the same sense of moral exceptionalism as the English term does today, as it often may signify that which is forbidden or unclean according to the religion. So since the verses consider it forbidden, it falls under the translation used in Biblical terms from the Bible I identified.
In some cases, like this one where I am using Bible verses as a forbidden issue, abomination is the proper term.

God has a different idea. He created them — man and woman for a purpose.
That would be it.
I just did that today because of your post, and I thank you profoundly. The parallels to what is going on today with the leftists are stunning. What a wonderful story of her awakening. God bless her where she is.
You’re very welcome.
With respect to what some, including myself, call the Gaystapo: I think the text from p.30 starting with “Miss Parks led a buy life” is especially poignant.
Though I would not use the term “real goodness” to describe either those infected with communism nor those running the culture wars I will take a page from Lewis as say that they, thinking themselves good, do not tire the way an honest tyrant might, their consciences not bothering them.
But where socialist elevated social justice above righteousness (and thus began down the path of at least fostering injustice against Persons in the name of Justice for abstractions of persons, if not much wprse), the current lot has supplanted it with such things as “tolerance” and “niceness”.
The root cause is the same, or as Dodd characterized it: starting from being emptied of convictions and having feeling / emotion rather than standards.
Better, what standards they had, and reason itself, was subordinated to emotion and emotions being naught but a wild torrent overflowing its banks gives rise to no standards, only platitudes, fake standards. In our time we see this in how our so-called culture has lost its itty bitty mind over sex. Those on the left (and too many in general) are, frankly, lusting for government to regulate or control virtually every aspect of life except sex and whatever might help there be more sex (like abortion) ... those must not be touched! It’s gotten so bad that we’ve got this gender-fluid insanity going on now and the rivers of emotion have overflowed their banks all over the place, till it seems we who resist can do little more than pile up proverbial sandbags around the few dry areas.
That is, of course, not just what Christ would have us do: we are to take the Gospel to them. Not just pile up defenses.
Problem is that when you live in a proverbial cesspool long enough you don’t notice so much. When Isaiah lamented being a man of unclean lips among a people of unclean lips he was, as far as I can tell, speaking about things in his life and in the lives of those around him that he thought nothing of, they were “okay”, until he saw them in the light of genuine Holiness ... then he saw that they weren’t okay at all.
Lewis too talks about this, though for him obviously in a less jarring fashion that seeing Holy God, when he speaks of entering a (human) society better than any he’d known before and becoming uncomfortable realizing that all was not well with him.
One minister said that when you reject the true you by necessity accept a counterfeit. I reason that on different levels this is also true of things that surround a bloke, that he thinks are normal because it’s all he’s ever known, like some kid growing up in a home where there was filth and vermin everywhere: that is seen as tolerable until something comes along to startle them out of it.
We are supposed to be what startles folks out of sin.
But we Christains in the west are also living in houses defiled by the overflow and backflow of our cultural sewers, and we’ve been living with that a long time. So if I may go back to the piling up sandbags motif maybe we should question the dryness of the ground? Are we faithless, worldly? Do we deal falsely with our wives? Is divorce so accepted among Christians that we’re committing adultery in the form of serial marraige?
Stand up for holiness where the tawdriness of life has become accepted and you’re weird.
We need a lot more weird people.
Otherwise we look too much like the world and aren’t gonna startle them outta anything.
Yes; "comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable."
I was struck by her admission that her parents stopped going to church and that she was not sure of having been baptized. She didn't say so, but I imagine she never went through catechism and confirmation. So in this way the parallels to today's unchurched youth, and their vulnerability to these totalitarian "save the world" movement is very similar. She recognized that the communists' entire movement was based on nothing -- no concrete, unchanging philosophy or belief system -- and therefore it changed overnight, reversed itself without warning, and had no mercy or forgiveness for political enemies, even within its own ranks. Its acolytes were merely tools of the faceless few in power within Socialist International or the top Soviet ranks, far, far away. And they were completely expendable.
Communism is the politics of covetousness, envy and the delusion that if you pass enough laws and regulations, you can make life "fair." The Bible is clear that life isn't fair and is never going to be fair, but the relationship between the individual and God is the only thing that matters. Collectivism is bunk. It won't save you; its delusional nature will contribute to your downfall.
