Well, duh, Mr. Assange, everyone is aware of what came about from arming the Muhajadeen, but at the time the Soviet Union was our number 1 enemy. Today’s friends or distant acquaintances that our government has to deal with or chooses to deal with due to certain circumstances, could be tomorrow’s enemies and viceversa.

We are friends with Germany and Japan, at one time we were at war with them. Situations and things change all the time, a government can’t be paralyzed because the people they are forced to befriend or even friends may turn into enemies in the future.

Friends is a relative term when it comes to nations and governments.

Mr. Assange, nothing else to write about?

When dealing with muhajideen one is essentially dealing with an evil anarchy. There is no such thing as a treaty with them.

Friends is not even a relative term. Nations have no friends, only interests.
